Ahead of negotiations between Iran and world powers later this month in Baghdad, US Vice-President Joe Biden has said that Israel still has time to launch a military strike against the Islamic Republic. Biden's words came at an address he gave in Atlanta to the Rabbinical Assembly's annual convention. He added that he felt that it was justifiable for Israel to see Iran as an existential threat and said that Israel should decide for itself which course of action to take. US Vice President Joe Biden: "Were I an Israel or were I a Jew, I would not contract out my security to anybody. Even a loyal, loyal, loyal friend like the United States." Biden says that Iran's window of opportunity for finding a way out of its isolation is shrinking. The upcoming nuclear talks in Baghdad could change that. A former commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards has of late expressed optimism over the negotiations, though stressed that there is still long way to go before the atomic issue will be resolved.

Islamic wars have brought questionable benefit to the US over the last 20 years, former US presidential advisor Pat Buchanan, author of Suicide of a Superpower, shared with RT. A new war in the Middle East will be a disaster for the US and for the world economy, he says. Barbara Elizabeth Bj: Burma or Myanmar?, Cambodia or Kampuchea?, Derry or Londonderry, Falklands or Malvinas? Persian Gulf or Arabian Gulf (or simply "The Gulf"?)... While I have heard both Burma & Myanmar enough to recognize both as common, I have always known the others as Cambodia, Londonderry, the Falklands and the Persian Gulf (or simply "The Gulf"). I have never heard of the "Arabian Gulf" before this article. Maybe I read it somewhere that way at some point in the past, but I didn't read or hear it enough to remember it that way. And, the same is true of Malvinas. I have heard Kampuchea, but only slightly more than I probably heard the others. And, there are plenty of places with multiple choice names. I have definitely heard of Judea & Samaria which is also commonly called the West Bank by world news agencies and others. We could go on and one with name changes. But, the rationale behind these differences of what to call an area just don't go away even when those of one country hear one more because their own government supports one side over the other.... like ours often does -- because as they mention in this article, names are often the equivalent of claims. Israel & Palestine, Czechoslovakia to Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia... Tell me if you still think of Russia & the USSR as one and the same? Scott Whitney: Prophecy - everyone has an opinion. Some are wowed by the propecies of Nostradamus or Edward Cayce. Others think it is nothing more than the work of charlatans. Then there's the big buzz about the Aztec calendar running down in 2012 - despite the fact that recent findings show a calendar that extends far beyond 2012. Even so, it doesn't take much looking around to see abundant signs that the world cannot take much more. Weapons of mass destruction, natural disasters, the constant threat of epidemics, global warming, and competition to resources are just some of the key threats that come to mind. And don't even get me started on the threat of catastropic war. So what does the Bible say about the end and what does it say about prophecy? According to the Bible, prophecy is worthless unless it's 100% accurate. That's harsh! If we had that standard for our SCIENTIFIC predictions, we would have to fire every working weather forecaster. Yet the Bible has been unerringly accurate. If you look at the precision of prophecies, just for Jesus, then look at the odds of all those propehcies being fulfilled by chance - it's mind boggling. Likewise some of the prophesies of the rise and fall of very specific civeilizations such as Babylon. Attempting to build there woujld set off a major Milddle east war. A war in which a coalition including Iran Turkey and other nations attempt to destroy Israel. The Tribuilation The alliance between Iran and Turkey was inconceivable until recently because Turkey was an ALLY of Israel until Israel defendend itself against a blockade running flotilla. The actions resulted in deaths of some of the demonstrators and Turkey cut off ties and switched support to Iran.
