Nipirasait: Many Voices, of Canada Gallery Provides Rare Opportunity to View Contemporary Inuit ArtNipirasait: Many Voices debuts on Canada Day, July 1, 2010, and will run until December 30, 2010. Located at 501 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, the Gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. In celebration of the 50th anniversay of Kinngait Studios of Cape Dorset, Nunavut, the Embassy of Canada in Washington, DC, is proud to announce the opening of Nipirasait: Many Voices; a collection of 36 Inuit prints showcasing a distinctive portait of Inuit life and culture in the Canadian Arctic. “These artists provide a unique insight into the breathtaking beauty of Canada’s Arctic,” comments Canadian Ambassador Gary Doer. "Their work is a tribute to the ancient traditions and skills of Canada's proud Inuit population." The exhibit, made possible through a partnership with St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, recognizes the creative spirit of the Kinngait Studios and those who have worked closely with the artists, north and south of the border. For well over a decade, St. Lawrence University has been collecting Inuit prints from Cape Dorset for the purpose of teaching and research. The works in the 2009 anniversary collection, including perspectives of Inuit artists young and old, offer an opportunity to appreciate traditional culture while looking to the future of contemporary Northern art. Notable artists of all ages depict the power and beauty of the natural world, town and camp life, traditional Inuit stories and mythic creatures, and in more recent years, influences from across Canada. Their work illustrates a singular lyricism in its portrayal of humans and animals in their surroundings.
The Who Lyrics questions & answers
There's this guy who goes to the same college as me. We have mutual friends. He added me on Facebook. I've not met him yet but we do chat very often. He seemed really fun to chat with so I would talk with him, never give him the cold shoulder or anything. He is a great looker. And it's a fact, you can't hide the fact that someone is good looking even if you're dating so I don't mind saying that. Anyway lately we've been chatting more and we mostly talk about music or a little about college. We exchange music a lot. I've been obsessed with this song Love Letter by Kevin Rudolf, and I recommended it to him. He is now obsessed with it. He had even put his status as "Just <3's Kevin Rudolfs love letter" The song is kinda fits our friendship because it's about a guy whose madly in love with a girl who he's never met and he feels fate will bring them together (Check lyrics pl) since that day I got this vibe that he likes me, not my mind could be playing tricks on me too, but then I also believe that we should trust our gut. Today he came online from his cell phone and wrote on my wall asking me if I heard the song he told me to get which is Heartbeat by Enrique and he said I'll like it. (I've never seen ever seen him update anything ever from his cell phone) This song too is omething we can relate to IF he's getting the wrong idea. Please see the lyrics online? It's about two people who like each other, and one of them is in a relationship, and they don't wanna be lead on but they still feel each others heartbeat. And then he asked me which was my favourite line in the song, and he told me his. As I type he JUST commented on a picture of me saying "I like =)" and then after I replied he again commented saying "Oh and this haircut suits you. Quite pretty! =)" am I over thinking or does he like me and I should back out? Or is he just being friendly? Need to know! Thanks.
Answer: He defo likes you and tbh you could be leading him on...even if you really get on with him and just like him as a friend, you've said yourself that he's good-looking - maybe he's noticed you think this, just like they way you've noticed he likes you?? Even if you've never acted on it he would still be aware that you find him physically attractive and think that this cannot hurt his pursuit of you. Does your bf not go to the same college then? Is the friendship just you and this guy or are you within a larger group? Coz if it's just the two of you, added with all the songs etc hes sending you and commenting on your pictures, he's either a bit dense lol or he thinks that he's making it pretty obvious that he likes you (which he is in my view) and in which case because you havn't backed off from the friendship or havn't had 'a talk' with him, then he must be thinking that secretly you like him too...and I think that's what I've lead up to lol he sounds like a nice guy, good-looking, you get on really well....are you sure you don't fancy him??!!! Maybe you should give him a go...:)
I'm in a relationship but I THINK my college friend likes me. Do you think so? I need to know so I'd back off?
So I've been dating for 15 months now. We're very committed and strong. Done everything together. Now there's this guy who goes to the same college as me. We have mutual friends. He added me on Facebook. I've not met him yet but we do chat very often. He seemed really fun to chat with so I would talk with him, never give him the cold shoulder or anything. He is a great looker. And it's a fact, nobody can block the fact that someone is hot or not even if they are in a relationship. Lately we've been chatting more and we mostly talk about music or a little about college. We exchange music a lot. Now lately I've been obsessed with this song Love Letter by Kevin Rudolf, and I recommended it to him. He also joins a lot of Facebook groups, but nothing about love or nothing senti. Now he's been "liking" a few senti groups. A few of those type though. And today he came online from his cell phone and wrote on his wall (I've never seen him update anything ever from his cell phone) so he asked me if I heard the song he told me to get which is Heartbeat by Enrique and he said I'll like it. Again it's something we can relate to IF he's getting the wrong idea. PLEASE check the lyrics. It's about two people who like each other, and one of them is in a relationship, and they don't wanna be lead on but they still feel each others heartbeat. And then he asked me which was my favourite line in the song, and he told me his. As I type he JUST commented on a picture of me saying "I like =)" am I over thinking or does he like me and I should back out? Need to know! Thanks. His commented AGAIN on my pic saying "Oh and this hairstyle suits you, quite pretty! =)"
Answer: Sounds to me that he likes you. Should you back out, that depends do you want problems with your relationship with your BF. Because if you do then go right ahead and feed into the guys madness. What may happen is that your friend will get the wrong signs or something and try to make a move on you, or you may be in a situation where you and that guy are too close and one thing leads to another. Next thing you know your on here saying "I cheated on my bf, help." I've seen it, believe me. What I think you should do is if you don't back out of it then kinda distance yourself from him. Don't let your connection get so strong with him. NOW that's if you want to stay with your bf of 15 months. Now if you want to be with this other guy then break it off with your bf before you really hurt him. Lets put it like this. Say this was your bf and he had some girl he was doing the same thing your doing with this guy. Music, chatting, bla bla bla. Would you feel comfy with that? Would you think there was more to things and that the chick needs to back away from your man? I'm pretty sure you would not be happy. Its cool with having friends, and even best friends. But what's not cool is knowing someone likes you or has a big crush on you and you feed into it. Plus it might send the guy mixed signals and then your just messed up either way. My idea, if you don't want mess up things with your bf, back down alittle from your guy friend. If you want to be with your guy friend call it off with your bf because that guy can find your bf and tell him all sorts of crap. And then you've really got some problems on your hands. Hope this helps, good luck.
B&A - What's your favourite song LYRICS (because you're cool)?
again I ask B&A because I value your opinions :P Not necessarily your favourite song... but your favourite lyrics. And if there's a reason... why do you like them so? Mine would be the lyrics from Time to Pretend - MGMT I just love what they say, although it's somewhat confronting. and my 'crazy' lyrics, which don't really mean anything to me but I like, Is Art vs Science's new song, Magic Fountain In the beginning there was a fountain But it wasn't just any fountain It was a fountain of light It was a fountain of truth It was a fountain of dreams It was a fountain of youth It was a magic fountain who WOULDN't like those lyrics/ But I guess to ask something sort of along the lines of B&A BQ writers, are there any lyrics than inspire you?
Answer: OMG! MGMT! I bought their new album and now I can't get Brian Eno out of my heeeeeeeead. GAH. xD My favorite lyrics of all-time are hard to pick out. So I'll just give the first three that came to mind. "When they drilled holes in your skull And screwed that halo to your head Did you think you could fly?" ~ A Good Man Is Easy To Kill by Beulah "And there's kids playing guns in the street And one's pointin' his tree branch at me So I put my hands up I said, 'Enough is enough. If you walk away, I'll walk away.' And he shot me dead." ~ Landlocked Blues by Bright Eyes "Anyone will tell you Yes, anyone Chance had me setting a tripwire alarm." ~ Miranda, That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore (B. Pour Another Icepick) by The Mars Volta BQ: Yep! *about to bore you to tears* Mostly, the stuff that inspires me is instrumental, but recently I was inspired by lyrics from a few different songs to write a two-part story about a girl who sold her soul to the devil so she wouldn't die when she was suppose to. The devil replaced her soul with a demon who fed off of pain and misfortune and made the girl inflict these things on the people around her so he wouldn't starve. Eventually, the demon began to wear her body out and realized that his host was growing weak, so he set out to find a new body to inhabit--and found it in the strongest man in the village. I'm not exactly happy with the ending, but the whole story was borne from song lyrics. :] EDIT: Thought up another lyric that I really like! "A laundry list of problems Doesn't make you interesting And never getting help Doesn't make you brave Not listening to reason Doesn't mean that you have faith You're just cutting off your nose To spite your face." ~ Sympathy for the Martyr by Straylight Run :]

Who sings the song "Trouble" in the movie 3000 Miles To Graceland?
The scene where Mike(Kurt Russell) is getting ready the song Trouble comes on, it doesnt sound like Elvis Presley's version but I'm not sure. The basic lyrics are: If you're looking for trouble You came to the right place If you're looking for trouble Just look right in my face I was born standing up And talking back My daddy was a green-eyed mountain jack Because I'm evil, my middle name is misery
Answer: "Trouble" by Jerry Leiber (as Jerry Lieber) / Mike Stoller Performed by Elvis Presley Courtesy of The RCA Music Group, a unit of BMG Entertainment Check out the Source: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0233142/soundtrack
Song lyrics "just can't say goodbye"?
I'm pretty sure it's an 80's pop ballad, sung by a man. The tempo is a little slower, and it sounds similar to Don Henley's End of the Innocence. Any idea who it's by? It's not Lionel Richie or Boyzone, that much I know.
Answer: Just Can’t Say Goodbye Who knows what tomorrow will bring Oh, nobody can see And who knows where this road will lead Every turn's a mystery Because nobody knows what the heart will do And I just can't let go of you Chorus: Because days go by And there's nowhere left to cry And as hard as I try I just can't say goodbye I just can't say goodbye Who knew that yesterday You'd walk right through that open door And who knew our time would end I wanted so much more Because I just can't seem to find A reason to let go this time Chorus: Days go by And there's nowhere left to cry And as hard as I try I just can't say goodbye I just can't say goodbye And I don't want to try Chorus: Days go by And there's nowhere left to cry And as hard as I try I just can't say goodbye I just can't say goodbye

Secret Message in Nightmare (Avenged Sevenfold) Lyric Book?
Today I got Avenged Sevenfold's new CD, Nightmare, and I noticed something in the booklet on one of the last pages. Some of the lyrics to the last two songs, (fiction and Save Me) have lyrics written in Red. Here they are; "Fiction" +Now I think I understand How this World Can Overcome a Man +Not that I could or that I would, let it burn under my skin, let it burn, +I hope its worth it, out on the highway, I hope you'll find your own way when I'm not with you, "Save Me" +Skull So...... Anything unusual? It might have something to do with the Rev, like at first I thought it could be the vocals he recorded before he died, but he sings more parts in "Fiction." Also its hard to tell if its him who says Skull at the beginning of "Save Me."
Answer: I just got to it and it is the part where the Rev is singing prominently :) He sounds more like he did in Pinkly Smooth then other Avenged Sevenfold songs, but that might be just me who thinks that. M Shadows also sounds kind of different in it O_O Still good though, just different... Also, that is easily definable as the Rev saying "skull". I freakin' love this CD!!!
Whos the best Hip Hop artist that has ever lived *SERIOUS topic*Read Description*?
Alright guys im expecting deep answers for this question i dont want to really ask this question because there are so many different styles of hiphop/rap. But i couldnt resist. I want alot of answers on this one kind of like a vote, and would really appreciate answers ! Alright so here we go. Personally, i think Tupac Amaru Shakur was the best in his league. He was just, amazing. He really inspires me, his lyrics are great, his messages are great. his style is great, he has given me my life philosophy which is helping soo much. Hes just helped me out emotionally and mentally so much. And theres so much that was going on with him such as West Coast East Coast, Deathrow drama stuff, Illuminati, lots of beefs, Everything like that. And if you think differently im not looking for an argument just my opinion. Other artists that i like are The Game although hes not that much of a legend, The Notorious BIG, NAS, Eminem, and Crooked I. Dont forget Dr.Dre, Eazy E, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang. But im not going to start, im just wondering what you guys think. My Vote: Tupac And if you would add your opinion on who killed Pac or who killed Biggie. That would be nice too, thanks guys !
Answer: In my opinion: Tupac. Tupac has inspired me to do better things in my life, not only that he gives me hope. I literally live my life around his words. I love him, miss him & may he rest in peace.
