Touchdown IowaJon Lafleur The Betty Strong Encounter Center is now showing "Touchdown Iowa!" The exhibition comprises 53 Hawkeye football images shot by Sioux City photographer Bob Rasmus from 1985 to 2008. Among the glimpses of Hawkeye history is quarterback Chuck Long, 1985 Heisman Trophy runner-up and Iowa s all-time leading passer. Rasmus shot the picture at the 1986 Rose Bowl. "Touchdown Iowa!" shows running back Shonn Greene, 2008 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year. Greene was first team All-American. He scored the most rushing touchdowns in a season in Hawkeye history, with more than 100 yards rushing in every 2008 game. Hawkeyes from Sioux City high schools figure into the exhibition with defensive lineman Jon Lafleur, Bishop Heelan (1993) who started from 1993 to 1997; Dave Croston, East High (1982) an offensive tackle from 1982 to1986, and former National Football League (NFL) player for the Green Bay Packers; and Zeron Flemister, West High (1995) who was tight end from 1995 to 1999. Flemister went on to play in the NFL. Rasmus interest in photography took root in his youth. The retired Sioux City orthodontist was born in Canby, Minn., grew up in Slayton, Minn., and spent his last year of high school in Le Mars, Iowa. He played high school sports, including football, before enrolling in University of Iowa. He enjoyed the competition, but always was more interested in photographing the action. Throughout his undergraduate education, dental school training, military service and post-graduate training in orthodontics, Rasmus maintained his love for photography. After settling into life in Sioux City with his wife, Kaye, and their daughter, Emily, his sports photography work began in earnest. Since 1980, he s been at home or on the road shooting games mainly for Morningside College, Creighton University, the Sioux City Relays and his alma mater, University of Iowa. His work has been carried by print and digital media, including The Sioux City Journal. He s done cover work for Sporting News. Whatever sport Rasmus is shooting, his work is always about telling the story. "The story doesn t have to be a game-winning touchdown. It can be a profile of an individual player. But there s always a story. That s what I want to show with my work," he says. "Touchdown Iowa!" stories emerge with a wide range of players, including tight end Dallas Clark, an All-American in 2002; and winner of the 2002 John Mackey Award, given to the nation s best tight end. Clark leads the NFL s tight ends in receiving. Wide receiver Tim Dwight stands out as Iowa s all-time leading receiver and punt/kick-off returner. The former NFL player set Super Bowl records in kick-off and punt returns. "Touchdown Iowa!" honors legendary Hawkeye coaches and College Football Hall of Fame inductees, including Larry Station, All-American defensive leader on Iowa s 1985 Big Ten Championship team. Station is Iowa s all-time leading tackler, leading in tackling all four years. "Touchdown Iowa!" was edited and printed under the direction of Fr. Don Doll, S.J. and Carole McCabe, of Magis Productions, Creighton University. Fr. Doll is the Center s photo consultant. Player data was researched and written by Brent Wojcik and Alec Henry; text by Marcia Poole; graphics by Pat Osborne; and installation by Mike McCormick.

A) "Disneyland Opens" B) "Elvis debuts on TV" C) "Korean War ends" D) "First Super Bowl played" E) "Castro Becomes Dictator of Cuba
Answer: D
Has there ever been a team to win the Super Bowl with no defense?
Besides the rams. Rams rarely even used their kicker. that wasnt defense lol i didnt mean they had nobody on the field sheesh. That was one good tackle, and not even that good to begin with cause he shouldn't have gotten that far on the catch! Their defense was terrible besides their secondary and london fletchet.
Answer: Not really. The Saints and Rams are the last two teams to win rings with a focus on offense, and even they had decent defenses. The Saints forced a ton of turnovers and the Rams had some talented players like Aneas Williams, Adam Archuleta and Grant Wistrom during their GSOT days. Defense wins championships. Period. Even when the Colts won it was because their defense finally was able to stay healthy and step up.
Some super-fun 1st date ideas?
Haii guys! I just wntd 2 ask ur opinion on some super fun 1st date ideas. Keep in mind that I live in a relatively small town (no roller skating rink, no amusement park) but that we do have a movie theater, a bowling alley, and a aquarium. Me and the guy I'm gonna go out w/ have an awesome sense of humor. We're both super sarcastic and we really don't want something where we'll be sitting down for a long time (dinner, movie). Thanx 4 all the help!
Answer: fly kites, have ice cream, and walk around (: my dream first date!
Would the Cowboys be mentioned in any Super Bowl talks if they were in the AFC instead of the NFC?
Answer: Probably. The NFC has it's share of quality teams like the Saints, Vikings, and Packers. I know the AFC looks stronger on paper, but you never know. The Cowboys are being named as a contender because they proved last year they can get hot late in the season and win in the playoffs. The logical next step is the Super Bowl. Haters understandably love to bash the Cowboys, but they were within eight quarters of getting there last year before Minnesota took them apart. Now they are even more experienced and ready to push for a title. At least I hope.
WILL AARON ROGERS BE MVP THIS YEAR? LEAD PACKERS TO SUPER BOWL?
Answer: Probably not either of them, but there's a decent chance of both.
What does the Steel Curtain have to do with Bradshaw's stats?
It's one thing to say that the Steel Curtain Defense deserves some credit for Bradshaw's career reg. season record of 107-51, his post season record of 14-5 and his all time record of 121-56, or him being the only QB to win 4 Super Bowls in 4 years or the only QB to win back to back Super Bowls twice. However; the defense has nothing to do with Bradshaw being named 1978 NFL MVP, SB XIII and XIV MVP, being named to the 1975, 77, 78 and 79 Pro Bowls, First Ballot Hall of Fame inductee, throwing a TD pass in the 4th quarter of all 4 Super Bowls, passing for 3,833 yds and 30 TD passes in the post season and 932 yards and 9 TD passes in the Super Bowl, calling his own plays in the huddle for 14 years, having NFL Films name his 64 yd TD pass in SB X as the greatest TD pass of all time and his 73 yd TD pass in SB XIV in the top 5, being only one of two players to ever win consecutive SB MVPs and the only QB to ever pass for over 300 yards in consecutive SB games, or rushing in the reg. season for 2, 257 yards and 32 TDs. 46 of Bradshaw's career interceptions were thrown in his first 2 seasons with no talent around him and him being a only a rookie and second year player.
Answer: You kind of answered your own question. As a long time Raider Fan I remember the Steel Curtain Defense quite well. It was a big reason the Raiders lost to the Steelers in the playoffs 3 times in the 70's although the Raiders did beat the Steelers twice. Those were great days & a great rivalry. As far as Terry Bradshaw is concerned I agree with most of what you said. He was a great quaterback & the Steel Curtain defense really helped give him time to mature as a QB.
Who won the Super Bowl?
Saints or Colts?
Answer: Welcome back and the Saints won.
Why do christians say that with god all things are possible?
When something is possible that basically means there's a chance. Will the Bengals go to the Super Bowl? It's Possible. Will I get a raise this week if I ask for one? It's possible. You see, with or without god, all things are possible. It's called probability!!!
Answer: With god all things are possible...except the whole god healing amputees thing. God must really hate amputees.
