(aka Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) were one of the first bands to fuse hardcore punk with thrash metal, along with Suicidal Tendencies and Corrosion of Conformity. Starting off as a speedy, straight-ahead punk band, they gradually mixed more elements of heavy metal into their sound; as they did so, their songs got longer and featured more sections and more variety in tempo. D.R.I. managed the then-rare feat of crossing over to metal audiences while retaining their skatepunk and hardcore fan bases -- they had something for all those audiences to love (or hate). Vocalist Kurt Brecht and guitarist Spike Cassidy were the two constants throughout the band's frequent lineup shifts, and kept them going for well over a decade.D.R.I. were formed in Houston, TX, in May 1982, evolving out of a defunct hardcore band called the Suburbanites. Singer Kurt Brecht, drummer Eric Brecht (his brother), and bassist Dennis Johnson had all played in that outfit, and with new guitarist Spike Cassidy in tow, they renamed themselves Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, after a frequent insult from the Brechts' father (who objected vehemently to their rehearsals). The band was soon performing live around Houston, and before the end of the year, they issued a 22-song debut, Dirty Rotten EP, on their own Rotten label. Pressed in limited quantities, it was reissued as a 12" LP in 1983, appropriately retitled Dirty Rotten LP. The wider exposure for this version helped make the group's name in the punk underground, and after a supporting tour that year, they relocated to San Francisco.The going was rough at first, and bassist Johnson quit to return home to Houston. He was replaced by Sebastian Amok for a tour with the Dead Kennedys, after which Amok was in turn replaced by Josh Pappé for the 1984 EP Violent Pacification. Eric Brecht also left the band later that year to get married; he would soon join Hirax. In the meantime, D.R.I. replaced him with Felix Griffin. During the recording of the band's second album, 1985's Dealing With It, Pappé took a leave of absence to deal with a drug problem. Mikey Offender, of the Offenders, filled in for him during the remainder of the sessions, and the album was released on the Death label. With Hirax's help, D.R.I. scored a deal with Metal Blade, and a substantial buzz built around the group, especially when Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo praised them in an interview.D.R.I.'s Metal Blade debut arrived in 1987 in the form of the boundary-blurring Crossover, whose title made their punk-metal fusion ambitions crystal clear. Their songs were growing from short bursts of speed into full-fledged, multisectioned compositions, and their unification of the two genres was the most seamless of their career. On the 1988 follow-up, 4 of a Kind, the metal influences began to predominate, even if the band's hardcore roots were still audible. Buoyed by the video for "Suit and Tie Guy," 4 of a Kind became the first D.R.I. album to make the national charts. The following year, Pappé accepted an offer to join Gang Green, and was replaced in D.R.I. by John Menor, formerly of Mantas. Menor made his debut on 1989's Thrash Zone, the band's most metallic offering yet, and one that was also widely acclaimed among their best. "Beneath the Wheel" and "Abduction" landed some airplay on MTV, and the album became their second straight to chart.Thrash Zone proved to be the band's final effort for Metal Blade, however, and Felix Griffin departed in 1990, effectively bringing D.R.I.'s most successful period to a close. After a couple of short-lived replacements, Griffin's slot was filled by Rob Rampy IV, and Spike Cassidy revived the band's Rotten label to release 1992's Definition. By this time, the alternative explosion had substantially reduced the audience for thrash, and Definition accordingly looked back on the band's punk roots; still, much of their old audience had evaporated. After recording the late-1992 gig that was eventually released as the Live album, Menor left the band and was replaced by Chumly Porter. Porter made his debut on the 1995 studio set Full Speed Ahead, and the band spent the next few years touring, even if there was no new product to speak of. Porter left in 1999 and was replaced by Harald Oimoen, who helped continue D.R.I.'s road-warrior existence.

Answer: Elements are identified by their atomic number, which is the number of protons in the nucleus. There area also neutrons in the nucleus, and atoms of the same element will have the same number of protons, but they can have different numbers of neutrons, which makes them isotopes of the same element. If you look at the periodic table, you will see that columns I and IIA are metals. The transitional elements in groups IB to VIIIB are also considered metals because they have some characteristics of metal. Most tables go up to about 114 protons, so all those elements can be considered "discovered". A lab was able to create atoms with 117 protons and detect their presence before they disintegrated. So, nobody has "discovered" any atom with 118 or more protons, but high atomic mass atoms like that are extremely unstable (I'll explain why in a sec.), so they wouldn't be coasting around on a meteor. They might be generated for as split second in a high energy situation (within a star or a particle accelerator on earth), but they will come apart. Even the higher numbers among the elements that we have observed in laboratories were only created for a split second. Here's why. You know how magnets of the same polarity repel each other? The same thing happens to protons. They repel each other. The more protons you try and squeeze into one nucleus, the harder the whole thing is pushing itself apart because the protons repel each other. So even if you had the energy to slam 119 protons together, they would rip back apart in a fraction of a second, and the only trace of your "discovery" would be the energy emitted when the nucleus splits apart. So while nobody has seen an element made up of 120 protons, there wouldn't be a meteor full of them drifting around because the time they exist before ripping apart is such a tiny fraction of a second that we need special names for time that quick.

I thought of this in the middle of the night, so it doesn't really make that much sense... (and I'm thirteen, with a wild-ass imagination, that doesn't help either...) It starts off in like 1850, when these guys are in the arctic. They feel this earthquake, and suddenly a hole opens up in the earth. They think it's a sinkhole, but it actually leads down to the center of the earth. The heat creates a small gap in the Earth's crust, which gets bigger and bigger with time. This happens over and over again, creating bigger and bigger holes. Then, in roughly 2000, there's another one, the same thing happening. Then, like two hundred years later (2200) there's a HUGE one in the middle of the ocean, so powerful two of the tectonic plates end up on top of each other. As you can imagine, this has a catastrophic effect on the planet. Whole continents lose their shape, and all of the gaps in the earth's crust connect, until one side of the earth collapses on itself. Then, a bunch more earthquakes follow, and then the final one cracks the earth into multiple pieces, which break away from the earth. All the continents (North America, South America, Africa, you get it) float around the earth's now open core, somehow suspended by gravity still. All the oceans flowed into one big orb around the center of the earth, once again suspended by gravity, and all of the rest of the earth's crust crashes into the sun. The solar flares, mixed with the flares from the earth's core, completely fry the earth, but some inhabitants survive. Over the course of the next couple thousand years, they build gigantic bridges connecting the continents, pumps connecting to the suspended water, and eventually find the materials they need to rebuild their cities, greater then ever. Did I mention like FIVE BILLION people died? Yeah. Five billion people died. Disease, famine, and total lack of food and land rack the remaining chunks of the world, but by the year 8000, the world has been restored, in a way. Large capitals and uh, "happening" places (New York, Shibuya, etc.) become the center of life. And, towards the top of the earth is a utopia of sorts, a huge city made of glass and metal, a place where poverty does not exist. There are schools again, where the Great Destruction (earthquakes) is taught as a history/geology subject. And eventually, it is almost forgotten, simply a rare thought in the human mind. But NEW problems start to occur... the water now wrapped around the earth's core is evaporating. Why? It's wrapped around the earth's core. Duh. There can't be any more earthquakes, the continents float. But something about the core is weird. The water isn't just evaporating, the core is getting bigger. Yup. The earth's core is starting to implode, and now scientists and astrologists are looking to move the remains of their planet to ANOTHER planet. The new problem is, how is that gonna happen?! DUN DUN DUNNNNN! So yeah. This is just the story, there will actually be characters and shizzle that goes down, don't worry. Remind me of any plot holes, please? Yah. Thanx

The previously unknown deposits — including huge veins of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and critical industrial metals like lithium — are so big and include so many minerals that are essential to modern industry that Afghanistan could eventually be transformed into one of the most important mining centers in the world, the United States officials believe. An internal Pentagon memo, for example, states that Afghanistan could become the “Saudi Arabia of lithium,” a key raw material in the manufacture of batteries for laptops and Blackberry's. The value of the newly discovered mineral deposits dwarfs the size of Afghanistan’s existing war-bedraggled economy, which is based largely on opium production and narcotics trafficking as well as aid from the United States and other industrialized countries. Afghanistan’s gross domestic product is only about $12 billion. “This will become the backbone of the Afghan economy,” said Jalil Jumriany, an adviser to the Afghan minister of mines. So far, the biggest mineral deposits discovered are of iron and copper, and the quantities are large enough to make Afghanistan a major world producer of both, United States officials said. Other finds include large deposits of niobium, a soft metal used in producing superconducting steel, rare earth elements and large gold deposits in Pashtun areas of southern Afghanistan. Just this month, American geologists working with the Pentagon team have been conducting ground surveys on dry salt lakes in western Afghanistan where they believe there are large deposits of lithium. Perfect Machine King is slow and does little for you. Machina soldier 2 Machina sniper 2 Machina defender 2 Commander Covington 2 These are what would be known as the bad machinas. Machina Force is supposed to be used as a searchable (by gearframe) copy of monster reborn for fortress. Actually summoning it loses huge advantage while getting out a dumb beatstick who dies to every form of removal. Oilman is terrible. Giant Rat seems subpar in this deck and Shredder doesn't seem so great. Among these cards, Shredder is the one that appears most interesting but I'd drop the idea if it starts losing you games. Break Draw and Heart of Clear water are lousy cards that loses you even more advantage to Dimensional prison and smashing ground. Machina Armored Unit and Card Trader are unneccary because your monsters already help thin the deck. Paralyzing Potion is terrible when compared to the option of just killing the card with smashing ground. Monster Reincarnation wastes advantage to get nothing of great use while double summon is just plain aweful. If you really want to drop a bunch of gadgets in one go, use ultimate offering. Swords slows your deck down and the only decks that you need to buy time against have so many outs to this thing it is doubtful you'll get your full three turns. Scrap Iron Scarecrow is ok but a little slow. metalmorph time machine rare metal morph spirtiual earth art scrubbed raid Just cut these. As for what to add: Monsters: Maxing out on Gearframe and Fortress is important. Cyber Dragon gives big beats while also allowing for extra deck options and mirror match tech. Jinzo/Jinzo returner gives you 2400 extra attack on the board that is hard to stop because of his trap negation. Future Fusion and Overload Fusion allow your cyber dragons to become gigantic and future fusion loads up your graveyard for fortress plays or Jinzo plays with returner. Add some spell/trap removal to aid your big pushes for game. Traps should include more monster removal (Dimensional Prison, Bottomless) and control (Royal Oppression, Trap Dustshoot) Hope that helps
