Welcome to perhaps the most brutal conference in the NFL. Or at least the most physical. These teams are generally tough both on and off the field. Most off-seasons, you hear a lot of press about what these players are doing with their spare time ... So there is quite a familiarity with always looking up at their rivals in the standings. And this year will be no different for a town where things continue to get worst. The Indians have been god awful the past few years. ...

Jon Lafleur The Betty Strong Encounter Center is now showing "Touchdown Iowa!" The exhibition comprises 53 Hawkeye football images shot by Sioux City photographer Bob Rasmus from 1985 to 2008. Among the glimpses of Hawkeye history is quarterback Chuck Long, 1985 Heisman Trophy runner-up and Iowa s all-time leading passer. Rasmus shot the picture at the 1986 Rose Bowl. "Touchdown Iowa!" shows running back Shonn Greene, 2008 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year. Greene was first team All-American. He scored the most rushing touchdowns in a season in Hawkeye history, with more than 100 yards rushing in every 2008 game. Hawkeyes from Sioux City high schools figure into the exhibition with defensive lineman Jon Lafleur, Bishop Heelan (1993) who started from 1993 to 1997; Dave Croston, East High (1982) an offensive tackle from 1982 to1986, and former National Football League (NFL) player for the Green Bay Packers; and Zeron Flemister, West High (1995) who was tight end from 1995 to 1999. Flemister went on to play in the NFL. Rasmus interest in photography took root in his youth. The retired Sioux City orthodontist was born in Canby, Minn., grew up in Slayton, Minn., and spent his last year of high school in Le Mars, Iowa. He played high school sports, including football, before enrolling in University of Iowa. He enjoyed the competition, but always was more interested in photographing the action. Throughout his undergraduate education, dental school training, military service and post-graduate training in orthodontics, Rasmus maintained his love for photography. After settling into life in Sioux City with his wife, Kaye, and their daughter, Emily, his sports photography work began in earnest. Since 1980, he s been at home or on the road shooting games mainly for Morningside College, Creighton University, the Sioux City Relays and his alma mater, University of Iowa. His work has been carried by print and digital media, including The Sioux City Journal. He s done cover work for Sporting News. Whatever sport Rasmus is shooting, his work is always about telling the story. "The story doesn t have to be a game-winning touchdown. It can be a profile of an individual player. But there s always a story. That s what I want to show with my work," he says. "Touchdown Iowa!" stories emerge with a wide range of players, including tight end Dallas Clark, an All-American in 2002; and winner of the 2002 John Mackey Award, given to the nation s best tight end. Clark leads the NFL s tight ends in receiving. Wide receiver Tim Dwight stands out as Iowa s all-time leading receiver and punt/kick-off returner. The former NFL player set Super Bowl records in kick-off and punt returns. "Touchdown Iowa!" honors legendary Hawkeye coaches and College Football Hall of Fame inductees, including Larry Station, All-American defensive leader on Iowa s 1985 Big Ten Championship team. Station is Iowa s all-time leading tackler, leading in tackling all four years. "Touchdown Iowa!" was edited and printed under the direction of Fr. Don Doll, S.J. and Carole McCabe, of Magis Productions, Creighton University. Fr. Doll is the Center s photo consultant. Player data was researched and written by Brent Wojcik and Alec Henry; text by Marcia Poole; graphics by Pat Osborne; and installation by Mike McCormick.

An Evening With Right Said FredThe venerable nay record-breaking duo RIGHT SAID FRED comprising brothers Richard and Fred Fairbrass will be stepping out under the moniker “An Evening With Right Said Fred” and performing some of their greatest hits, some newer, more poignant, lovelorn ditties (firmly allaying themselves with English bedfellows like Madness and the Kinks) as well as regaling some rather surprising anecdotes that are set to make your hair curl. The latter include stories involving Austrian mothers and fathers arriving at RSF gigs in order to arrange the deflowering of their daughter, tales of crack/cocaine debauchery at the home of one of the world’s greatest porn stars and hotel/tv studio shenanigans of the lowest order. Think Dame Edna … but mental, An Evening With Right Said Fred is actually not to be missed. Back in 1992, Right Said Fred became the first UK band since the Beatles to reach No.1 in the US with a debut single. That single - I’m Too Sexy – hit No.1 in thirty two countries (although interestingly Bryan Adams ensured it remained at No.2 for six weeks in the UK) and garnered an Ivor Novello Award before further hits like Deeply Dippy (another Ivor Novello) and Stand Up For The Champions (still an NFL stalwart to this day) contributed to the band’s overall haul of twenty million records worldwide. Right Said Fred are currently recording a new album set for release before the end of 2010. Attendees should be aware that the show will be filmed for broadcasting purposes. Costs: £20
Guy TorryAccepting Passes Thursday, Friday and Sunday. In the tradition of comedians who have made the transition from the stage to the screen, such as Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby, multi-talented Guy Torry has made the leap to comedic actor with great success. Guy has been seen on Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam on HBO, as well as the feature films, "Funny Money," opposite Chevy Chase, Penelope Ann Miller and Chris McDonald, "The Last Stand," starring Anthony Anderson, Darrin Henson, Kevin Hart and written and directed by Russ Parr, "Dead and Deader," opposite Dean Cain and Susan Ward, and the independent thriller "Slow Burn," opposite Ray Liotta, Taye Diggs, LL Cool J and Mekhi Phifer. Guy has also appeared with Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear and Eva Mendes in the 20th Century Fox Film, "Stuck on You" and his many other feature film credits include "Runaway Jury," "Don't Say A Word," "Pearl Harbor," "Life," "The Animal" and most notably "American History X." The St. Louis native also received critical acclaim for his work on the small screen starring in the NBC mini-series "The 70's," the HBO television movie "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge", and the UPN drama "The Strip." He hosted BET's sports talk show "BALLERS", with four-time NBA World Champion John Salley and three-time NFL Pro Bowler Hugh Douglas. Guy has made guest star appearances on television series including "Blind Justice," "The Shield," "One On One," "X Files" and "NYPD Blue." He also supplied his voice on the animated Nickelodeon series "As Told By Ginger." While attending Southeast Missouri State University, Guy had a curious desire to pursue a career in entertainment. Once in Los Angeles, he landed a job as a production assistant on the Fox comedy "Martin." His quick wit captured the attention of the show's writers, producers and eventually the show's star Martin Lawrence. Guy became a contributing writer to the series and had subsequent writing stints on sitcoms such as "Minor Adjustments" and "Moesha". Guy's televised stand up credits include performances on BET's "Comic View," Comedy Central's "Premium Blend," "Showtime at the Apollo" and "Russell Simmons: Def Comedy Jam" where he made his standup debut to a national audience. Guy also hosted the enormously successful 52 city comedy tour "The Kings of Comedy" which grossed over $37M. He created a unique concept called "Phat Comedy Tuesdays" which was a weekly showcase for up and coming comedians. This evolved into a weekly spotlight at the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip entitled "The Guy Torry Show" where Guy hosts and produces a comedy showcase featuring an improv comedy troupe. This event was regularly attended by the comedy A-List including Eddie Murphy, Chris Tucker and Chris Rock. He is currently performing in comedy clubs across the country. Guy resides in Los Angeles

Here's Mine AFC North-*Bengals(11-5) (Offense is back) Ravens(9-7) (Missing Ed Reed hurts, come up short of playoffs) Steelers(7-9) (Big Jen out 4-6 weeks, too much distractions) Browns(5-11) (It's the Cleveland Browns...) AFC South-*Colts(13-3) (Colts too strong) *Titans(10-6) (Avoid starting 0-6, and they are good) Texans(8-8) (Not quite there yet) Jaguars(6-10) (Another long season) AFC East-*Patriots(10-6) (Not their strongest season, very close with the Jets) *Jets(10-6) (Lose tie breaker to Patriots) Dolphins(8-8) (Not this year) Bills(3-13) (No hope what so ever) AFC West-*Chargers(10-6) (Tough season, Jackson is a FA) Broncos(8-8) (Lost Marshall, fell apart last year) Chiefs(7-9) (See improvment in this team) Raiders(4-12) (Bad team) NFC North-*Vikings(12-4) (Barely beat out the Pack,I hate Bret Favre) *Packers(11-5) (Hang with Vikings, come up shortof division) Bears(9-7) (This team scares me) Lions(2-14) (Nowhere close) NFC South-*Saints(13-3) (Very strong team) *Panthers(9-7) (Running game gets Clausen & Panthers winning season) Falcons(8-8) (Come up short in long run) Buccaneers(6-10) (Little improvement) NFC East-*Cowboys(10-6) (Edge out G men) Giants(8-8) (Just miss playoffs) Eagles (7-9) (Don't trust in Kolb) Redskins(7-9) (Not enough to make it in) NFC West-*49ers(9-7) (Strong D, win a weak division) Cardinals(8-8) (Matt Leinart won't get it done) Seahawks(7-9) (Some improvement) Rams(4-12) (Few more seasons until Bradford leads to playoffs) Just want to see anyone's agreements/disagreements (probably lots of disagreements and hate) but whatever
Answer: AFC North-*Bengals(11-5) (I agree with this one, and this record too. They might lose the first game but their schedule looks pretty easy until November.) Ravens(9-7) (I also agree with this record too. They've got some tough games.) Steelers(7-9) (Big Jen, lol. 8-9 losses seems about right. this is getting weird. we need to disagree on something.) Browns(1-15) (About time we disagree. I don't think they've made all that much progress at all. Some times sports just doesn't seem fair. This town is trying to get over LeBron and now they have a pretty tough schedule along with their lack of talent.) AFC South-*Colts(13-3) (Regular season champs. Like always. Can't carry it into the postseason.) Texans(9-7) (Texans get the tie breaker with Titans.) Titans(9-7) (I have these guys losing 7-8 games.) Jaguars(6-10) (yeah, I agree. 10-11 loses seems about right looking at their schedule. MJD can only do but so much.) AFC East-*Patriots(12-4) (this is basically wishful thinking, me being a Patriots fan. If the team comes together like I'm hoping they will they'll be very good for years to come with all the new young talent.) Jets(10-6) (this is about right. Kinda tough schedule but they have some nice players.) Dolphins(8-8) (8-9 loses. I agree. Really tough schedule.) Bills(3-13) 13-14.( Agreed again. Tough schedule and not enough talent.) AFC West-*Chargers(11-5) (easy teams to start the season so Jackson ban won't hurt them all that much.) Broncos(8-8) (7-8 losses, I agree. They get the tie breaker.) Chiefs(8-8) (very much improved.) Raiders(4-12) (I'm hoping you're right on this.) NFC North-*Vikings(11-5) (Tough schedule but they have alot of talent. get tie breaker.) Packers(11-5) (I agree.) Bears(6-10) (I'm not so optimistic about this team.) Lions(2-14) (I'm going to agree with you on this schedule but I won't be surprised if they got 0-16 again. Tough schedule.) NFC South-*Saints(13-3) (3-4 loses I agree. Didn't lose much this offseason.) Falcons(10-6) (Schedule looks favorable.) Panthers(6-10) (I can't see them doing much. That defense took a big hit losing Peppers.) Buccaneers(6-10) (I agree. Tough schedule.) NFC East-*Cowboys(9-7) (Tough schedule but luckily for them the NFC East has weakened.) Giants(8-8) (I agree, 7-8 wins. very close with the Cowboys.) Eagles (7-9) (8-9 loss team, I agree.) Redskins(7-9) (also agree here.) NFC West-*49ers(10-6) (I could see them winning 11 because their schedule looks ridiculously easy.) Cardinals(8-8) (agree here too.) Seahawks(7-9) (8-9 losses is about right.) Rams(4-12) (I agree. Bradford will take time.)

Question about playoff seeds?
In my fantasy football league, which is the best choice for the "playoff seedings"... 1. Dvision winners awarded top seeds 2. Division winners advance but seeded by overall standings 3. All teams seeded according to standings Last year, I had the "division winners awarded top seeds" option but for some reason teams that had records of 6-8 were getting like #3 seeds, and a guy that went 10-4 was like last seed so thats a bit messed up. Which is the best option and more actual NFL like?
Answer: If you aren't going to give the division winners an extra bonus for winning their division, then why bother having divisions? I'm in 12 team leagues with no divisions. Top 4 make the playoffs. Simple.

Which is the best option and more actual NFL like?
Answer: Option 1 is how the NFL actually does this. Option 2 is a compromise that I wish they used in all sports. The NHL(Hockey) gets screwed by option 1 the most of any of the major sports in north America, they desperately need to switch to option 2.. Option 3 although technically being the most fair it is not exactly as cut and dry as people perceive. Example of this would be NCAA football when a team can be ranked ahead of another team who has a better win/lose record due to strength of schedule. Since your fantasy football will have an uneven schedule you need to allow at least one person to go through from each group. My vote is on Option 2.

How does the NFL draft work?
I feel stupid asking this question, but last season was my first time watching NFL, and this is the first NFL draft I've seen. I don't understand how it works, can someone explain it to me? All I know is that teams get order of pick by where they ended up in the standings (with teams in last place choosing first). But when I checked, it was all scrambled up. Why did some teams get to choose twice? And why didn't some teams get to choose at all? I'm so confused.
Answer: It goes like this the order is decided by the standings as you said, why its jumbled is because teams are trading their picks for other teams picks eg the chargers traded their round 1 pick 28, round 2 pick 8 and round 4 pick 28 for the dolphins first round pick 12, because they thought that some other team was gonna take ryan mattews. Teams also trade players for draft picks if they don't want that player anymore and another team does. In addition to the 32 picks in each round, there are a total of 32 picks awarded at the ends of Rounds 3 through 7. These picks, known as "compensatory picks," are awarded to teams that have lost more qualifying free agents than they gained the previous year in free agency. Teams that gain and lose the same number of players but lose higher-valued players than they gain also can be awarded a pick, but only in the seventh round, after the other compensatory picks.
