Justine Henin questions & answers
Who do you think will win the US Open in both competitions? And how far will the top 10 players go?(Justine Henin is withdrawing due to injury and Juan Martin Del Potro has announced his comeback at Flushing Meadows(my worst nightmare!!!!Nadal has had luck NOT playing Del Potro, now DelPo is once again my biggest threat))....
Answer: 1. Nadal- QF or better if he doesnt have to face big hitters like Del Potro or Soderling :| 2. Djokovic- always consistent in slams, usually makes it to the QF or better, but he's been fairly good this year, and i think that he could make the semis, finals or even win it.. 3. Federer- always a big threat, and still is despite poor showings in the clay and grass court seasons.. i say SF or F 4. Murray- i can see him making the QF/SF he is usually really good up until the later stages in slams, i hope he wins one soon (even though im not a huge fan) he deserves it :\ 5. Soderling- big hitters like Soderling always seem like a threat, i think that he'll make the QF.. 6. Davydenko- agh, this guy has had a pretty good end of last/early this year.. sucks he had an injury :\ he just lost fairly easily in the Germany tournament :\ so i think that he'll make an early round exit 3rd/4th maybe? 7. Del Potro hard to gauge his performance since he hasnt played all season.. like i said big hitters are a big threat, and i think he'll make it pretty far despite injury, i think 4th/QF 8. Berdych- he's been pretty good all year, even on hard courts making the finals of Miami losing to Roddick, and QF of Indian Wells losing to Rafa.. maybe he makes the SF.. 9. Roddick- AHHH, love him, i think that he should be able to make the QF this year :\ he had the most amazing hard court season earlier in the year, and just improved his hard court record this year to 27-4.. he struggled a bit in his opener at atlanta.. so i think if he doesnt pick it up he might get knocked out early.. i still think QF or better.. 10. Verdasco- meh, he hasnt really be a substantial player this year, havent heard his name a lot.. i think that he will make the 4th round at best. 1. Serena-i doubt the foot injury is that serious, i think that she'll make the SF at least and has a good chance at winning this. 2. Jankovic- JJ<3 i think that she has a good chance this year, good on hard courts, won Indian Wells this year.. and really finding her game, but i just saw that she pulled out of a match due to ankle injury :((( so who knows.. i would like to say QF or better 3. Venus- she always does well, and did win earlier in Dubai, she has been playing WTT, and i think she has a good chance at SF or better 4. Wozniacki- she really hasnt been that impressive this year :\ i dont think she will have a repeat of last year, but will possibly make it to the QF 5. Stosur- as much as im not a fan of the Aussie i think that she will have a pretty good run to the QF.. despite that laughable effort at Wimbledon. 6. Dementieva- i think that this girl has got it all, great gootwork, a great forehand, and a nice compact backhand.. i just hope she is fully recovered from her calf injury! i think that if she is she could make the SF and hopefully win her first slam :S 7. Clijsters- i really dont think that she will win it this year, and will probably lose in the QF, i hate to say this, but she might just be a little tiny bit overrated :\ i do love her though.. :) 8. Schiavone- haaaa another first round exit for the reigning french open champ? i dont think she will even make it past the 4th round. 9. Zvonareva- i like the girl, glad she is doing well again, i think that she'll make it to the QF at least. 10. Li- yayayay i love Na Li :) she does play pretty well, and is somewhat a threat, i think that she will make the QF again, if not SF. :)))
The Year-End WTA Rankings?
It's hard to say what they will be because some top players are not doing that well at the moment. I think the top ten will be: 1.Serena Williams. 2.Jelena Jankovic. 3.Venus Williams. 4.Samantha Stosur. 5.Justine Henin. 6.Kim Clijsters. 7.Caroline Wozniacki. 8.Maria Sharapova. 9.Elena Dementieva. 10.Li Na What do you think? Please Comment!
Answer: Justine Henin is injured, and will miss the US Open, so there is no way she can get into the top 5 unless she wins every tournament she enters. Kim Clijsters has lots of points to deffend this summer..Li Na won't do anything in my opinion..Here's what I think.. 1.) Serena Williams 2.) Venus Williams 3.) Jelena Jankovic 4.) Elena Dementieva 5.) Vera Zvonareva -- I have high expectations for Wimbledon finalist with little points to deffend this summer 6.) Sammy Stosur 7.) Caroline Wozniacki -- a little dip, only because of her US Open final points 8.) Kim Clijsters 9.) Agniezka Radwanska 10.) this could be anyone..Maria Sharapova? Hehe I hope mine is more accurate then yours, I really don't like Henin :O
The shortest number 1 players?
in terms of physical height? both men and women? My guess is Marcelo Rios and Justine Henin? i am amazed how well Rochus brothers do on the Pro tour!
Answer: Henin is short at 5'5 1/2" but Tracy Austin was actually listed at 5'5" even, making her 1/2" shorter than Henin and the shortest #1 on the women's side. If you really want to dig back, Pancho Segura was the shortest male #1 ever, at 5'6", but that was back in the 1950's before the Open Era. The shortest male to rise to #1 in the Open Era would in fact be Marcelo Rios at 5'9". Being a short guy myself, I have a soft spot for fellow little guys and it might be interesting to know that the shortest players active on the ATP tour are Olivier and Christophe Rochus from Belgium who are 5'6" and 5'7" respectively.
Which active players have won grand slams?
It goes in this order: Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Justine Henin, Maria Sharapova, Kim Clijsters, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Ana Ivanovic and Francesca Schiavone. Is there anyone else?
Answer: Men's singles- Federer, Nadal, Hewitt, Djokovic, Ferrero, Roddick, del Potro, Gaston Gaudio. ur question wasnt specific on who u wanted, men or women or both. =/
Doesnt it seem so long ago when...?
-Novak Djokovic won the Australian Open -Ana Ivanovic won Roland Garros -Maria Sharapova, Dinara Safina, Jelena Jankovic, and Ana Ivanovic were #1 in the world -Rafael Nadal first took the top spot from Federer -The epic match between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal happened -Justine Henin retired -Richard Gasquet was involved in the drug scandal you can add anything else if you want XD @David -- Dont be a smartas$ lol @David -- Yes it does haha
Answer: - Roger Federer would only lose a handful of matches in a year - Marat Safin was causing his fans to rip their hair out - Gasquet was still called "Baby Federer" - Davenport, Mauresmo, Pierce, and Capriati were still around and the Belgians didn't retire yet - Lleyton Hewitt used to own Roger Federer - Nadal was only a scrappy teenager who kind of got on everyone's nerves (people didn't understand his intensity on the court) - Andre Agassi was amazing everyone as a thirty-something - The likes of Nalbandian, Moya, Ferrero, and Coria were in the top 10 - The Williams sisters were dominating every major
Wow. Justine Henin said she HATES Kim Clijsters what are you thougts about that?
Answer: It wouldn't surprise me! Justine is a jealous child that cant stand it that Kim is more popular over here then over her. In interviews she keeps thinking she's better then Kim bud here's a thin Kim won all the matches against you since come back Justine! A fiew Weeks ago there where rumours Justine would have indeed said that! Bud almost everyone in belgium is with Kim! If I was Fed Cup Coach Sabine Appelsmans I would trew Henin out of the Fed cup team and play with Clijsters-Wickmayer-Flipkens
Where can I see the video Clijsters vs. Serena exhibition in Brussels July 7th?
Ooops - looks like I missed an interesting match - anyone know where can I watch the archived video? ---- BRUSSELS (AP)—A world record tennis crowd has watched Kim Clijsters defeat Wimbledon champion Serena Williams 6-3, 6-2 in an exhibition in Brussels. The crowd of 35,681 at King Baudouin Stadium on Thursday surpassed the previous record of 30,472 set in 1973 at the Houston Astrodome in the Battle of the Sexes match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. Clijsters was originally scheduled to play Belgian Justine Henin, but Henin withdrew after injuring her elbow at Wimbledon. Top-ranked Williams agreed to replace Henin despite a foot injury. The match was officiated by tennis great Martina Navratilova.

What's Justine Henin's future going to be like?
She's had a minor thigh injury in this year's Australian Open, but managed to get through to the finals. She had somewhat of a injured pinky on her left hand in this year's French Open, but lost in the 4th round. She had no injuries when playing in Wimbledon, but slipped and landed on her right elbow (which left her with a partial ligament fracture) in the 4th round, and caused her the match. And now, because of that, she withdrew from the upcoming US tourneys, including the final grand slam of the year, the US open. She'll be out of action for a solid two months. With all of that said and done, do you think she can win any grand slams in 2011? Do you think she'll be back in a better form? I don't know why the injuries keep on coming....it's surely gotten me worried and concerned about her future prospects in tennis.
Answer: i think that she expected to have a great comeback, but she just isnt the same player she was when she left tennis.. i think that she is kind of disappointed with herself with that being said, i think that not playing these tournaments will save her from further losses, which will in the end help her out.. so she can focus and have that breakout comeback she was hoping for. :) I just think that her new non finesse game sucks, and she should go back to playing the way she used to. that game could help her win a slam next year :)
