Dabble in the arts to feed my soul.I've been practicing art, for as long as I can remember. There were a few short dry spells, where I didn't practice visual arts, but dabbled in music, theatre, or other creative endeavors.I studied Studio Painting and printing at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, and finally graduated 98' with a BS in the Graphic Arts from VIterbo College, In LaCrosse, WI. My art has progressed back and forth between photo realism, surrealism, primitivism, whimsy, conceptual art and semi-abstract expression. Currently, I'm working on an idea, which is derived from the accidently art of graffiti removal,or cover up. Last summer, while out on a night time photography excursion, I discovered some of these instances, and framed several shots, which have become the subject, I wish to explore. Kathrin Köhler's usual form of creative expression is the written word. She received her BA in English Literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of Wisconsin â" Madison. She customarily writes poetry, but has recently adventured into short fiction. Despite her love of language, Ms. Köhler believes some emotions and experiences are better communicated visually, and that some emotions are sub-verbal, and can therefore only be satisfactorily communicated non-verbally. Ms. Köhler has no formal training in the visual arts. She enjoys exploring the learning process organically through trial, error, and observation. Emilio Lanier As far as I can remember my favorite activity was drawing. I drew all the time, especially cartoons. Manga and animation by Walt Disney were popular at the time. By high school and college years I was doing comic strips and political cartoons for school newspaper. At UW my works appeared on Cardinal and Herald. I was headed to become some type of artist. But studying art was not a simple path. At classroom, classical art was taught which emphasizes copying world around you. Outside classroom, artists were flinging paint at the canvas. Even Elephant was painting âart.â Art became a concept. I could not relate to that. Art was some thing I did and I was good at it. But my true interest was in flying machines during my teens. As a teenager I built many flying model airplanes. I was curious how the real thing was built. And, that led me into career as a design engineer for 20 years. But, throughout I kept my pen and paper always near by. After all itâs a part of me that is still in progress. I experimented with color and form during 2000. Color work was done out of doors with oil and canvas, and form was done with Black and White medium format photographic equipment. Printing was done by me. I studied Black and White photography under West Cost masters by attending many or their workshops. Mel Marcum Most of what I do/have are collage pieces, some with messages and/or poetry. How To Lower Bills questions & answers
i had to apply some of mine and my sons medical bills to a couple of credit cards to avoid collections(a lovely ppo) so i used the lowest interest rate cards and now im looking to down size the cards to at least half with some extra funds my husband will be getting from overtime. how long will this take to show on the credit reports and update the scores since the balances leave little available credit and were looking into buying a home. and need to lower the debt to credit ratio.
Answer: Credit reports are updated monthly. So one month after you make your payments, your reports will show the decrease in your credit card balances. Depending on many factors, such as how much you will be paying off, how much your limits are, and how complex your credit history is - your score could jump significantly. Whenever people pay off a large amount of unsecured current debt, their score gets a good boost. Congrats on getting rid of at least some of that debt.
Why doesn't he want to make a better life for us?
My fiance is a pretty decent guy - he just has absolutely NO motivation to do anything with his life. He even flat out told me he has no goals in life other than to get married and have kids. He as a decent job, but its definately not a career. It is in the automotive industry, particularly the sales end of it. With the economy the way it is, (and it not getting any better) I feel that he should have a Plan B in case something were to happen to his current job. I also am thinking of the future. Ideally, I would one day like to have children (and so would he) - given that we could afford them. I am currently working on my PhD so that I can obtain a higher paying job to make a better life for us, and children should be have them. My fiance however, is just settling in his job in my opinion. I feel like he doesn't want to do anything to better our lives. He wants to stay in his current job because he likes it - although it doesn't offer medical or dental insurance, 401K, or retirement. He gets paid half salary half commission, AND sometimes is shorted on paychecks due to low sales numbers for the week. I just don't see how this is "an ideal job" - benefit wise & future wise EVEN if you like your work. He says that he hates school and doesn't want to do it. He doesn't want to go though any type of education to better himself. He says he doens't like it, it would stress him out, and he doesn't have the time. (yet I manage to work 55hrs / week AND take a full load of classes at school) - meaning I know he could make it work with his schedule. I understand that college isn't for everyone - but now days to live a comfortable life, having a college degree is almost as much a necessity as air. Personally, if I could live a comfortable life and not have to go to college, I wouldn't be going - but I realize that in order to make a better life for US (especially if we have children) this is what I have to do. Why doesn't he feel the same need to try to make a better live for us? I'm not asking that he be a doctor or rocket scientist or something, I just want him to have a stable career and not JUST a job. I don't want to have to worry about pinching pennies or not being able to afford bills when we are older. I want to be able to retire one day and live comfortably until we die. I want to be able to have children and be able to give them a good life, and give them all the things we never had - is that such a bad thing? Is this being selfish or unreasonable to want him to help make a better life for us as I am doing? Any ideas or thoughts? It's not about the money, I'm not wanting to be a millionaire, I'm wanting to be STABLE financially and not have to scrape through life barely making ends meet...especially if we have children.
Answer: How can he convince you that life the way it is is just fine? He wants to know if it's unreasonable for him to not want to have to change a thing since he likes life the way it is? The simple plan is you go and make something big of yourself and make enough money to live comfortably on while he remains the same. You make the comfortable living, why does it have to be him? Maybe you could consider making enough so he could be a stay at home dad while you work, many families are doing such things now a days. It's not uncommon for one to be the bread winner while the other stays home, no rule that it can't be the woman making the great living. The other plan is to see if his never changing is something you can live with. If you want a man who has drive and ambition than he is not the right guy for you. That is a huge part of who he is and not easily changeable. Could he change you into being like him? Of course not and you can't change him into being like you. I once loved a man who wanted a very different life than i wanted. I realized i'd never be happy and constantly fighting with him to live the way i wanted. So we ended it. I ended up finding a man i loved even more and who wanted a life like i wanted and we've been very happily married ever since. :) It was worth the heart break with the first guy to find my forever guy!
This may sound gross but what could it be?
My husband was sick with some flu like virus a few days ago, but for a month before that his right eye got all red and puffy with what looked like pimples. (Really sorry if this is TMI) It's not on his eye or anything but the baggy part that turns dark if you don't have enough sleep where this happened. He popped what he thought were the pimples, but it got all red and swollen underneath and people have been noticing it which makes him upset because if it's acne it's embarrassing for him, which is understandable. But, then he got the flu and his eye looked like crap even more and more people were coming up to him and asking what happened to your eye? He looked in the mirror and saw how bad it was, it literally looked like someone had punched him and it swelling by the cheek and lower lid. Something made him look at his actual eye ball and the bottom part of it (not the mucus-y pink part on the lid but the actual ball) was turning yellow. He doesn't know if he could have jaundice or not, because he doesn't do anything that would ruin his liver, and he said jaundice can be caused by someone who has been sick with the flu, but that was a week and a half ago almost and his eye is still yellow! We noticed it three days ago (Wednesday night) and it's still there. What else could it be? I want him to go to the doctor but he has a medical bill out already that he's still trying to pay off and he doesn't have insurance and we're broke. That's why I am asking. Answer: Your husband obviously has a health problem which, if not treated, could become very serious. Thanks to Obamacare, even before it's initiated, is causing millions of Americans problems when they try to seek health care. Take him to an ER. They have to see him whether he can pay or not. He needs to be seen.
How Can I pay Off this Car Before two Years?
I just got a used car from a small dealership. The price of the car was 3995. I had to finance the car because I didn't have the cash on hand. I put 500 down and they told me that they would try to lower my interest rate. They said they couldn't and now I have an interest rate of 33%. They also asked for another 500 in two weeks. My car payments are 220 a month for the next 23 months. My friend told me to pay it for 6 months and than just pay the rest off. I can't afford this plus 300 insurance. How can I pay this car off before my two years that way I can get rid of this bill?
Answer: Just pay extra like i do ur payment is $220 if u pay $300 a month thats an extra $960 a year thats almost 5 extra monthly payments that year if u pay $250 thats 1 and a half payments a year. I got a 5 year loan on my car my monthly is $272 the least i ever paid is $300 thats 13 that adds up 2 one extra payment a year but when i got extra money ill pay $400 or whatever. Basically if u pay more than the $220 a month u will pay it off early how early depends on how much extra u pay each month.
HOW IS THIS ACCOUNTING PROBLEM DONE I HAD ACCT BUT FORGOT HOW TO DO THIS HELP!?
Tyler Smith has worked in an upholstery shop for 10 years. Last year, Tyler’s wages were $20,000. Lately, Tyler has been unhappy with the shop’s owner. Convinced that he could run an upholstery shop that did better work at a lower cost, Tyler decided to go into business for himself and opened CLASSIC UPHOLSTERY SHOP. He started the business by investing $20,000 of his own funds into the business, a sole proprietorship. To get the business going, Tyler decided to invest heavily in advertising. He spent $6,000 on advertising aimed at consumers and another $2,000 on advertising aimed at getting work from interior decorators and interior design stores. Tyler also purchased industrial sewing machines costing $4,000 and other tools and equipment costing $3,000. He estimated that the sewing machines can be used for about 5 years before maintenance costs will be too high and the machines will need to be replaced. The other tools and equipment are not as durable and will have to be replaced in 3 years. At the end of the first year of business, Tyler had received $80,000 in cash from customers for upholstery work. Tyler was owed another $2,500 from customers who are not required to pay cash, but are billed every 30 days. A review of Tyler’s checkbook shows he paid the following expenses (in addition to those mentioned previously) during the first year of business: Upholstery fabric $40,000 Other supplies 10,000 Wages----part-time assistant 9,500 Rent 4,800 Insurance (2-year policy) 3,200 Utilities 2,500 Miscellaneous expenses 1,700 Tyler’s utility bill for the last month of the year has not arrived. He estimated that the bill will be approximately $320. Tyler keeps some stock of upholstery fabric in popular colors on hand for customers who do not want to wait for special-order fabric to arrive. At the end of the year, about $14,000 of the fabric purchased during the year was in his store stock. In addition, $2,300 in supplies had not been used. HOW MUCH PROFIT DID TYLER MAKE IN HIS FIRST YEAR OF BUSINESS? (Hint: Prepare an Income Statement!) DO YOU THINK IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO OPEN THE UPHOLSTERY SHOP, OR WOULD TYLER BE BETTER OFF WITH HIS OLD JOB?
Answer: Add cash and Accts. Rec. to get total revenues.Subtract expenses from this. Epenses are: Advertising One year's depreciation for the sewing machines and tools. Cost of Goods Sold (Fabric cost minus fabric stock on hand) Supplies (Supplies cost minus supplies stock on hand) Wages Rent Insurance (for 1 year only) Utilities (make sure you add the bill for the last month) Misc. Expenses Once you subtract expenses from revenues, you have Net Income or profit. If the net income is close to what Tyler made in his previous job, it was probably a good idea since the business should grow in the future. What was not included in this problem is the employer taxes that Tyler would have to pay on the employee's wages and the self-employment tax that Tyler would have to pay for himself. This should also go into the decision if this was a good idea or not.
How did Pres. 0bama repay to his young supporters on college campuses?
Between 4.5 million to 5.5 million students annually are insured by short-term plans sponsored by their schools, which are tailored to upperclassman who have aged out of their parents' coverage or to international and graduate students. These plans are very low cost because the benefits are designed for generally healthy young people and often organized around campus health services and academic medical centers. All of which means these plans aren't likely to qualify under ObamaCare's "minimal essential coverage" rules that mandate rich benefit packages, even if colleges have the flexibility to make exceptions for special needs. And given that insurance must now be sold anytime to everyone, colleges may be required to continue to cover students after they've graduated—leaving this type of coverage unaffordable. It doesn't help that the regulations governing student health plans are as carelessly written as the rest of the bill, and the uncertainty is holding up insurance contracts and plan design for the coming academic year. Not surprisingly, the colleges are asking federal regulators for a blanket ObamaCare waiver. (Can everyone else apply too?) All of this is no accident. The liberals who wrote the bill despise these campus health plans because they think every plan in the country should be designed in Washington and have been calling for a regulatory crackdown for years. Other Democrats probably had no clue about these rules, even as they voted for a bill that was so large and convoluted that no one could truly understand it. Either way, count this as another of ObamaCare's really futile and stupid gestures, with many more to come.
Answer: he did not repay his young supporters.

Answer: Change your landlord because when winter comes your electricity bill will be through the roof. I take it you don't have a refrigerator, TV, or Immersion heater. These will all be using the Electric the TV especially unless it is unplugged (they use plenty of electric on standby).
How did Obama trick the American people into voting for him?
Because 2 years ago he was a GOD among men, people were dazed at how he was going to save us all. Now he has a lower approval rating then Bush did at his worst. He made the recession worse and now it is double dipping. He is shoving unread bill though congress that the majority of people don't support. He is racking up an unheard of national debt that our great grandchildren will still be paying off. On a side note, do you feel foolish yet for falling for his scam, do you? Yes he did move troops out of Iraq. But guess what, he is moving them all to Afghanistan. Is that an improvement? NO! And oh yeah healthcare is so grand I am literally a bundle of joy when I think of the 200% tax increases on their way for 2012. Don't be such a tool. If you don't think the recession is double dipping then you need to go look up some of the latest info on that, STAT.
Answer: not so much trickery..it's the stupidity of half of the American people who voted for a community organizer/marxist..they believed the outright lies and deceit
How can i lose weight while I'm broke?
I'm 23 years old and weigh 240 lbs. I am 5'3. Now, I will say, I carry my weight fairly well. Most people are surprised if I tell them my weight or pants size (18). I visited a friend a few months ago who is extremely health conscious. She buys all organic, non processed, low fat/sugar foods. I stayed at her house eating her food for 3 weeks...and lost 12 pounds. I dont really excercise. (Unless you count chasing kids around at my home daycare excercising.) Now, heres the issue. I want to lose weight. I dont want to be a certain size or weigh a certain number, I just want to get healthier. My fiance is also overweight, and I feel like we dont help each other. The problem is that we are broke. Im always behind on every bill, never have enough money for gas, and am barely putting food in the house. So the food we do eat is bad. Ramen noodles, 88 cent banquet dinners, mac n cheese, etc. I also work nights at a restaurant and tend to grab a burger or something there because its free. We applied for food stamps to help us until we can work out this job situation (which we should qualify for) but we wont know until the end of September. I want to start losing weight now! I cant afford the gym, I'm embarrassed to run in public, or to excercise period in front of people. The fact is, I am completely happy with myself the way God made me...I'm not happy with the way I made me. We are planning on starting a family and I dont want to bring my children into the world setting them up for failure with 2 overweight parents. Advice, as well as grocery list suggestions would be awesome!!!
Answer: When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together. If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising, start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack, disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).
How do I find a better paying job off campus as a college student? I live on my own?
I haven't job-searched before. I'm 20 years old, a colleges student living on my own. I am not allowed to do heavy lifting due to a bulging disc in my lower back and two in my neck. I left home because of an abusive situation and have no ties to family. I do work on campus jobs, and they are 7.50 and 7.65 an hour, yes they work between my class schedule but they don't help pay rent, bills, etc. I don't know how to start a job search. Any advice would be greatly apprecaited.
Answer: education.mypressonline.com - I found such internship info here. It has lots of internships, job openings and scolarships for college students.
