The Good News have two releases; the self titled debut mixed by John Collins (The New Pornographers) and You People Have Carpet On Your Hearts mixed by Woodie Taylor (Love Is All, Morrissey). They also released the first volume of a series of vinyl-only releases called Quadruple Dare which features bands covering each other's music, the first one entitled Vancouver Mutilation. Late nights with our hero are spent at the finest nightclubs in Vancouver, as he is the city's most affluent DJ. For three years he's been spearheading the 50s/60s movement at his night The Ice Cream Social, which has had a three year grip on Mondays in Vancouver. At the risk of over-idealizing social realism art school training, we can’t help but notice the common denominator in artists’ works from China: Realist depictions of fragments from collective memory eg momentous bygone events rendered as history painting. Rather than debating the aesthetic pros and cons of such Russian inspired art academy training, we present an informal survey exhibit of historic elements as they recur across various artworks, art mediums, and artists output. This sample of recent artworks share a common concern with the past, ties that bind to seemingly unable to break the history, despite present day exhortations to “Look Forward To A Brighter Future”. While racing ahead to build a “New China”, a China of breakthroughs in economics, science and technology - and culture - the heavy weight of “History”, (History with a capital “H”), remains; unavoidable and inescapable, as a psychological load which must be carried by all individuals, from the past through to the present and into the future. Artists, as we know, are adept at making seen that which is more often left unseen and unspoken. Artists, undeterred by taboos and fascinated by that which is left forgotten, have an uncanny ability to excavate and make fresh and provocative what others would relegate to dusty bins and history volumes for library shelves. Artists often remind us that however much we try to ignore the past and move forward into the future, History’s call is, relentless and “imbedded” onto our collective consciousness via socialisation and every day tools of civic education. We see and often ignore History’s admonitions, emanating from official monuments, national greetings holiday, housing estates’ communal blackboards, military tunes, comic book heroes, and many other well-known icons of communal education. Despite our best efforts to keep eyes forward and fixed on the future, “History”, forever a part of our collective peripheral vision, will inevitably rear its head, opening its Pandora’s Box of powerful imagery, indelibly our subliminal thoughts and involuntary, reflexive memory. Legendary stoner rock band Sleep split in 1997 after two hugely influential albums. Members went on to form underground heroes OM and High On Fire, and more recently metal supergroup Shrinebuilder. For these performances, original members Al Cisneros and Matt Pike will be joined by drummer Jason Roeder of Neurosis, and the trio will perform the seminal Sleep's Holy Mountain album as well as selections from Dopesmoker and more.Sleep debuted with 1991's Volume One album, recorded for San Francisco label Tupelo. Earache Records received the band's next recordings in the mail as a demo. The label - impressed by their single-mindedness and unique vision – immediately signed the band and released the tape exactly as it was received. Record stores worldwide stocked Sleep's Holy Mountain from November 1992 onward to this day.The band then signed to London Records. Their debut album for the major took the form of one mammoth 63 minute long leviathan of a track entitled "Jerusalem". The band resisted the label's attempts at radio edits and bringing in their own engineer to remix the album in view of "marketability". London baulked at the prospect of promoting what probably still is the most extreme music ever recorded for a major label, so shelved the recording and dropped the band.

Answer: NBC announced that Heroes has been canceled. So season four, volume five was the last one. But I heard that they're thinking of maybe making a mini-series or something of the sort. It hasn't been confirmed yet, but all hope is not lost! It was a really great show while it lasted though.

I have looked everywhere to find details on what episode we are on in Heroes. The last episode that I see anywhere is Season 4 Chapter 19 "Brave New World". The was aired back on February 8, 2010. According to Wiki (I know not a great place to give credit to) says that NBC announced that the shows is canceled due to dropped viewers, higher cost and other shows being more popular. Has anyone seen or heard anything to confirm this information about Volume 6 in the Series?

I have about 6 more of these to do so if you could explain as you go along, that's be amazing. You'd be my hero. Also, I do know the answer. It's 27 in. ^3. But I have exactly NO IDEA how to get this answer! I typed this exactly as my text book has it. The volume of the larger figure is given about and should be cubed, not squared. lol
