Guest speaker for this meeting will be congressman Gus Bilirakis. We have Marianna Musotto to thank again for making the arrangements. GUS M. BILIRAKIS, Republican from Palm Harbor, was first elected to Congress on November 7, 2006, to represent Florida�s Ninth Congressional District, which includes portions of Pasco, Pinellas, and Hillsborough counties. He is currently serving his second term in the United States House of Representatives. Born on February 8, 1963, Gus learned about the importance of public service early in his life from his father, Michael Bilirakis, who represented the Ninth District in Congress from 1983 to 2006. The elder Bilirakis also instilled in his son pride in his family heritage and civic-mindedness, both of which Gus proudly exhibits today. Early in his career, Gus volunteered on his father�s congressional campaigns, interned for President Ronald Reagan and the National Republican Congressional Committee, and worked for former U.S. Representative Don Sundquist (R-TN). Gus earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida in 1986, and a J.D. from Stetson University in 1989. Gus then was a Senior Partner at the Bilirakis Law Group in Holiday, Florida, specializing in wills, trusts, and estate planning. He also taught government classes at St. Petersburg College. Prior to being elected to Congress, Gus was overwhelmingly elected to four terms as a member of the Florida House of Representatives. During his tenure in Tallahassee (1998-2006), he chaired several prominent panels, including Crime Prevention, Public Safety Appropriations, and the Economic Development, Trade, & Banking Committee, gaining valuable expertise that benefits his constituents today. He quickly became known as a consensus-builder who worked across party lines for the common good, as well as for focusing on constituent service and being accessible to those he represented, traits he continues in Congress. Also while in Tallahassee, Gus won bipartisan acclaim for being fair and accomplishing his key priorities. His leadership resulted in laws to make communities safer, improve transportation, reform government, recognize the sacrifices of America�s veterans, and expand the role that community health centers play in making health care more available to lower-income individuals. In Congress, Gus works in a similar bipartisan manner to control federal spending, make government smaller and smarter, strengthen homeland security, lower taxes, improve education, increase access to quality health care, protect veterans� benefits, and ensure the long-term viability of Social Security and Medicare. His bipartisan work has also helped him to pass many of his own legislative initiatives in the U.S. House of Representatives. Gus has led efforts to enhance our nation�s visa screening capabilities and has played a key role in efforts to strengthen America�s borders; most notably passing legislation to enhance the collection of biometric information from migrants captured at sea who are seeking illegal entry to the United States. He has also successfully placed legislative initiatives in the 9/11 recommendations bill that was signed into law to increase our nation's rail and public transportation security. Currently, Gus serves as a Member of the House Committees on Homeland Security, Veterans� Affairs and Foreign Affairs. In the January of 2009, Gus was appointed Ranking Member (Lead Republican) on the important Subcommittee on Management, Investigations and Oversight. In this role he is his party's top congressional watchdog over the Department of Homeland Security. Additionally, Gus is a member of the Republican Party's Whip Team and is Chair of the Veterans� Affairs Task Force for the Republican Policy Committee. Of course we don't know what's really in them. And it's for certain Congress doesn't know what is in them. They didn't bother to read the stimulus bill they signed, or the health care bill they signed, or the financial reform bill they signed. Even if each document were only one page long that's over 10 times the total number of pages in the three bills I just mentioned. And the administration calls this a leak? What we've had in the past were leaks. I'd say 91,000 documents is a flood. *LOL* And I suppose they are going to blame it ALL on George Bush (43). Come on November 2010 and come on November 2012. This country needs some real change. Not false change or chump change. What is funny is the culprit is 'suspected' of being a PFC in the Army. *LOL* IF a PFC in the Army pulled this off without any help. The CIA should be recruiting him immediatly. I'm sorry I'm not buying this story any more than I bought Obama's "If the stimulus plan is not passed unemployment will go above 8%." Oh, I hope some heads do rollover this. The problem is they will probably be sacrificial lambs rather than the real cuplrits.

Answer: yes the word leak is not enough, it should be called tsunami. Now the entire world came to know why Taliban is still a force to reckon with. because the forces targeted innocent civilians instead of the dreaded terrorists talibans who hatched plans to attack Indian embassy, Indian workers and engineers. The intelligence agencies of the USA miserably failed to see the open secret that Pakistan's notorious ISI siphoned off funds allocated for war on terror to Talibans.

Answer: It's purely a change to health insurance with no change to health care. Health insurance will be regulated at the federal level instead of the state level Health insurance functions like a group policy (guarantee issue and renewal) Huge subsidies for older people paid for by younger people

Passing the Stimulus, Health Care Reform, Education Reform, Financial Reform, Hate Crimes Bill, Unemployment, I say those are enough to make this man Barack obama a Productive President.

Answer: It has been one of the more successful 18 months for a new administration in recent times. If the economy were better, his ratings would be excellent.

Just saw that the health care reform bill is adding a 10% tax on tanning beds, Not to be funny but I do not know that dark skinned people use tanning beds. Bad things?? Charles Krauthammer, the neoconservative columnist, argued that the worst part of Obama's failure was that he was succeeding — he was reversing Reaganism, with legislation like the health care and financial-reform bills. Choice D The President's press secretary, Robert Gibbs, noted, accurately, that the Democratic Party might lose the House of Representatives in the coming elections. This droplet of candor rendered the Speaker of said House, Nancy Pelosi, inexplicably apoplectic. Choice E Various commentators began to speculate that it was possible that the Democrats could lose the Senate as well. Answer: How about this apocalyptic doom headline of the future for you in 2050. "Whites now comprise less than 50% of the population in the U.S., Democrats have permanent majority for eternity" LOL, yeah Susie, that's why San Francisco is such a GOP stronghold, right? LMAO!

With all the issues like Health care, Immigration, Jobs, Oil Spill, etc.. Do you think Americans will go into a civil war? I mean, back then people were racists against African Americans and now, people are seeing a lot of hate against hispanics and if Obama give amnesty to illegal immigrates, it's just going to spark a second civil war, and we can't afford that. So my question is, do you think we will have another civil war? Also, do you think this Immigration bill will pass? I honestly think it's a decent bill. We can't deport them all, we just don't have the money. I rather have them because citizens then not and we have to pay for them. I don't see why people keep asking to deport them when it's just going to be a no. This bill will greatly improve the United States economy! The fact is, there is no possible way we can deport all of them. Note: I do not want to hear about how much you hate Obama or his performes.

Answer: What we should have done years ago is spend more time developing Mexico instead of gallivanting all over the globe and wasting resources fighting silly wars in the Middle East. Citizens from Canada don't sneak into the US. Why do Mexicans----because their economy and government sucks.

Does any one here know? Please give me a reference and a link if you know. I found this: Section 342 of the bill calls for an "Office of Minority and Women Inclusion" to be established in each of 29 federal bureaus and offices.
