City Wide Health FairUnder the dynamic leadership of Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie of the 13th Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC), the West Kentucky Conference is pleased to announce the upcoming City Wide Health Fair. The dates of the event are September 2-3, from 10am until 3pm daily. The event will take place at the Holiday Inn at Hurstbourne located at I-64 and Hurstbourne Lane in Louisville. The West Kentucky Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church is committed to improving the lives of individuals who have become the victims of the current economic crisis. Partnering with Norton Healthcare, Jewish Hospital, Metro Health, KYANNA Black Nurses Association, and Park Duvalle Community Health Center, the West Kentucky Conference will make available to the general public screenings for diabetes, hypertension, prostate cancer, and various other screenings including HIV/AIDS and STD’s. The 13th Episcopal District AME Church is committed to assisting the disadvantaged; reaching across economic and social divides to seek constructive solutions to problems confronting low-income communities. With unemployment high among Africa American males in Louisville and the surrounding area, it is crucial that we seek ways to get black men to be health conscious. The 13th Episcopal District and the West Kentucky Conference were at the forefront of the relief effort in Haiti and Malawi, assisting individuals after the destructive earthquake. As well, the District provided water, food, clothing and manpower in Nashville during the recent flood. Bishop McKenzie and her husband, Episcopal Supervisor Stan McKenzie, along with a delegation of youth and other members of the District recently returned from a seven day trip to Jamaica building homes and a erecting a church for the residents of the island. The West Kentucky Conference consists of the Louisville-Paducah District and is overseen by Presiding Elder Ralph E. Johnson. There are 25 churches throughout Central and Western Kentucky in suburbs and towns. To find more information about the West Kentucky Conference, go to www.westkyame.com. You may contact the Health and Wellness Coordinator, Mrs. Alma Pittman, at 502-419-0191 for more information.
Haiti questions & answers
None of the other news channels report the truth, glenn beck does tell the truth, msnbc seems like it turns a blind eye to the truth. What is so wrong with what he says, i think it is because the media has been bought by obama and the democrates. They spend all their time not talking about what the president is doing wrong or how he surrounds himself with people who are communist acting. They all believe in taking away people's writes.Ill be glade when we get a real president who cares about america, and stops appologizing for it.America feeds the hungary in haiti, mexico, brazil, columbia etc.Im glad glenn beck is thier for americans. Also why doesent obama stop illegals, and stop rewarding them, with free housing food stamps, free medical etc...They can only get these things because they lie about not working because they get paid cash.I would also wonder why they all say well americans dont want these jobs, well if we got paid cash yes we would.Employers are getting rich by not having to pay worker comp or health insurance for these illegals, they tell their legal employees to go draw their unemployment because illegals cant. The illegals are working in all fields of constuction and other fields of work.Everyone pays the price mexicans, whites, blacks etc....I feel for the illegals but do it legally and if your all christians start acting like it and do the right thing, stop being and acting like racist.Just because people are against illegals doesnt make them racist .No illegal should be able to go to college on usa tax payers. Also back to glenn beck he is for restoring people rights who are being taken away, and everyone around obama seems like a communist and wants to see the down fall of america. They all have mentories who where communist like moow who killed millions off people, why did obama bow to the king of saudi arabia.Obama needs to change his evil ways and regaine the americans trust,so far he's lied about everything his done, what happened to all the campain promisis, seems like he's been brain washed.Well ive said enough america, please stand up for whats right, not for whats wrong...GOD BLESS ARE TROOPS.....

So what should I do about this person?
There is this girl from Haiti that I feel bad for. She always sits by herself at lunch, and she seems to be REALLY jumpy as though every time anyone goes near her it means they're going to hit her. (she was abused maybe?). Either way, my girlfriend and I keep trying to show kindness to her by asking her to come over to our lunch table and just talking to her; but she never seems to say much as though she doesn't even trust us. She always insists to be alone, also. How can I help her if she hardly even talks or does anything? I somehow feel obligated to. O.o
Answer: She's obviously used to being alone so much that it seems normal to her..she could be shy/not so social or from a not so tight family i guess those types are the one being picked on at school and she gets defensive about it..it's nice what you and your gf are doing for her..that's really sweet with tie she might get closer or just stay the way she is if she's built up in that personality for so long as a teen i think inviting her and talking to her is the best you can do though..compliment her in a positive way sometimes (not too much so she wont think your over doing it or just being polite) that could boost her confidence with time..i think she really needs a friend more then anything
Are The People I Talk To Right About What Goes on in Haiti - That the Gov't Is Corrupt and Things are Worse?
I'm in NYC and a lot of the taxi cab drivers I get happen to be from Haiti. I strike up convos. with them and they all say pretty much the same thing. Over in Haiti, the gov't is corrupt and the law enforcement is corrupt. They say that a lot of people say that the US gov't is corrupt and all but Haiti is like an organized crime ring running the country openly. They also say that currently there are a lot of gangs controlling all of the damaged streets and controlling the people. That these people escaped from prisons that were damaged during the earthquake and that they have run amok since. One guy said that he planned on going back to Haiti to find work, since he thought it would be easier since "lots of people died so there has to be more work" and people told him he was foolish for even thinking it since everything is corrupt over there. Is this really what's going on over in Haiti?
Answer: No, that's here in the US.
What has been the biggest event for the USA in 2010?
Examples: War in Iraq, oil spill, war in Afghanistan, earthquake in Haiti, US Economy (unemployment rate), etc...
Answer: Congress finally being able to enact regulations that may counter some of the last 30 years of deregulation that resulted in the 2008 world economic collapse.
I had a dream that the world was ending?
I had a dream that i was in a another country were the people there were very poor and the there was a earthquake and the ground was splitting open it felt like the end of the world when i woke up i kept thinking about it the weird part was two days later the news said Haiti had a horrible earthquake. What does it mean to dream about something then it happens? i' ve had this happen to me a few times it scares me a little.
Answer: Only God can tell what will happen to us, its just a coincidence . Dont bother youself cause im sure it will result to a problem. just pray before going to bed
Why don't people care about the situation in Pakistan (the FLOODING)?
at least 75% of the population has been affected by it; thousands of people (children, women, and elderly of course) have died with the number raising each hour, millions have lost their homes completely, and their government still is keeping one the "military campaigns near the Afghan border. People were up in arms for Haiti (rightfully so) but, why not for Pakistan. Why isn't Michelle Obama or Bill Clinton in tv ads calling for people to donate ??? Why- are they less important ? Are people feeling like donating 10$ to Haiti all the humanitarian action for them?? I feel like this depiction of Pakistan as "a sanctuary for rebel Islamic military groups (or terrorists)" has something to do with it. Are these people thinking, "why should we give money to crazy Muslims who want to stone people." Is that what people think or what's the deal ???? (what do you people think)????
Answer: Right now it is popular to support blacks. People in America are falling all over themselves trying to prove they are not racist... especially the white people. So they will give as much as they can to Haiti to impress others they are not racists and never have been. Then along comes Pakistan... they sort of help us but most Americans feel they did too little too late and our troops are stuck over there because Pakistan is a safe haven for terrorist that mean to do America harm. It doesn't matter what the dynamics are in Pakistan to flush out al-Qaida... as the point is, they did too little too late.
Why is The USA Trying to help small countrys .?
Like Haiti why is we helping them.Do the usa have some kind of degreement like if the small country get into a war with another country We come in and help.I know what happen to Haiti was bad since it is a poor country and all.I did donate money but i just want to know.It seems like every time something happen to small countrys we always help them. If you see spelling errors it is probly from my flaky keyboard. Thanks
Answer: I marvel at that nonsense also, especially when we are in debt, and our dollar is about to plummet through the floor and is backed by nothing.
Why do some people call all black people in the United States--- African-American?
We Africans HATE to be called that..That is a term for decendents of blacks in slavery times who dont trace thier culture to an African country.. We Africans call ourselves Nigerian-American, Ghanan-American, Togolese-American..Barack Obama is Kenyan-American.. There are also black people who come from places like Jamaica and Haiti. They too HATE to be called African-American..They dont trace thier cultural heritage to the United States.. So please if you dont refer to us by our RAC---which is Black--then refer to us by our proper cultural heritage. I call white people Irish-American, Italian-American, etc..When talking about thier heritage..No point in my saying European-American doug the majorty likes to be called that because the majority ARE African-American...Not all of us are, some blacks are immigrants from different countries
Answer: I just call you guys black.
Reliable websites/geofactsheets for my A2 geography homework?
Im doing A2 geography and my summer homework is a mock exam.. the 70 mark one. Its on Tectonic Hazards, the title is: ''With reference to examples, explain how physical processes control the occurence and magnitude of tectonic hazards. (70)'' If anyone has any reliable sources about case studies such as 2004 Tsumani or Haiti earthquake id be grateful!!
Answer: Tectonic hazards are events caused by the Tectonic plates below the Earth's crust colliding into each other, moving against each other, moving apart or the oceanic less dense plate being subducted under the continental plate. For example, Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Tsunami's. The most well known tsunami is the boxing day 2004 Asian tsunami, which claimed over 200,000 lives. A well known earthquake is the Sichuan Earthquake, which occured in may 2008, in China. a tectonic event becomes a disaster when people and property are at risk http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_tectonic_hazards
