Education questions & answers
Doesn't it have little to do with gender? Btw it has more to do then gender. For example, strong men are not as smart as nerds usually because they focus on athletics. While nerds are usually weak. Spanz for men - What are you trying to say in your second paragraph? Vick Team - Stop trying to justify your misogyny. Pathetic. Yes some people do have an advantage but that doesn't mean they are not good at something else. Gender has little to do with it since if you never do anything with your life, you can't be successful. The opportunities for what you do to become your potential usually come right after birth. It's only then that nothing has taken up your life yet. Stop justifying about some people being inferior losers that can't do anything with their life because of the way they are born. Vick Team - It's because of certain gender roles placed biologically and socially that men and women have different motivations. Stop trying to justify you bigotry and realize that everyone is different. Women are better at some things like english for example. It's a two way street. Men are not superior. By not agreeing with that makes me a feminist? Really you haven't said anything intelligent so far other than "women are naturally inferior because of some surveys and history results" And overexaggerating by saying I am a communist because I disapprove of your bigotry. That's really idiotic. please be quiet because I know a lot of women that are intelligent geniuses just like men. I started out neutral in this question but you had to bring crud in your argument.
Answer: no it has everything to do with gender thats why when i have a math test at school i dont even study i just ask my penis and it whispers all the answers to me!!
Why don't we let the Free Market work out all of our problems?
Like the fact that our country has a horrible education system. That's because the teacher unions pass laws allowing teachers to slack off and even sexually abuse their students without being fired. And then people think that spending more money on gym equipment would actually help the students learn. If we let the best schools prosper and the worst schools fail, then we would only have good schools. Parents would want to send their kids to the best school possible and not a crappy one. -Please don't mention Barack Obama, Democrat, or Republican. how was the housing bubble caused by the free market? that was caused by government intervention in the 'free' market. if the banks were making sh!tty loans, they should of failed like every other business. Not get bailed out by the fed, Holy Cow- You don't seem to understand how fucked up the teachers unions are. They can sexually harass their students and not get fired. Please tell me then Liberals, why don't we have a decent education system? It's monopolized by the government (like what YOU want), the teachers have no incentive to teach better, and there is no reward for success. But it seems to be one of the worst amongst modern industrialized nations. The countries that have better education systems then us are countries like Belgium. Belgium has free market education, not monopolized by the government.
Answer: 40 years ago I had an uncle who was an alcoholic. He wanted to sit home and drink every day but was unable to because back then you had to work to earn money. So he worked as a day laborer. He would work for a few days, get paid and go home and sit and drink. He had to pay for his own food, clothes, rent, utilities, etc, so only part of his money could be spent on whiskey. Then he would go back to work to earn more money. He lived to be 68 years old and died in a car accident. He was sober and was killed by a drunk driver. Talk about irony!!! Today my brother is an alcoholic. He wants to sit home and drink every day. Thanks to the liberals his dream has come true. He gets section 8 housing, food stamps, utility assistance, and a disability check for being an addict. Free housing, food, utilities and over $600 a month to spend on whiskey. He has had 7 arrests for drunk driving and has severely injured 2 people while drunk driving. He gets a free pass because of his "addiction" and only has to agree to go to AA for a few meetings. He shows up at the AA meetings drunk. The longest time he spent in jail is 3 days. The computers were down and his tax paid court appointed attorney had to wait to get him released. So my brother sits home and drinks every day while complaining that he has to drink cheap whiskey because the rotten evil government won't give him enough money to buy a more expensive brand. He is 42 and is dying of cirrhosis of the liver. His tax paid Doctor says he might last another year if he stops drinking. He now gets a tax paid nurse to come to his home twice a week and a tax paid maid to keep his house clean and cook for him. And when he dies taxes will pay for his burial. People we will spend 100's of thousands of tax payer dollars so my brother can sit home and drink and die young. Thank you liberals. You may be asking what this has to do with teachers. The liberals are trying and succeeding in getting them the same deal they got my brother.
Moving out within the week 1st time advise please thanks?
Mom is on drugs and canceled my student loan so I would have to stay with her instead of getting an education. Planning on waitressing full time and plus a job at mcdonalds or something. Im going to sell my iphone and laptop online to start me out and looking on craigslist for a room to stay in until im back at school in the spring. Cost around $400 including utilites. Is this all possible for me? im 20 she told my dad to cancel and he cosigned it. Yes this is real unfortunetly
Answer: Do a part time and enroll in the work-study program. If you have iphone, you probably are paying too much expenses. you would need a laptop for your education, so don't sell that one. get a roommate. most of the universities have a board in the housing office, full of people looking for roommates. this will reduce your housing spending significantly. look for scholarship. 100 or 10,000, apply to everywhere. be diligent and study hard in the small amount of time you have. i've seen students like you, and few of them are in medical schools.
in general what are your own personal opinions on education?
Answer: It sucks. Kids are learning way too much things they won't need in later life, and learn unnecessary things in general. Also, school system should boost book reading.
the economy and my future.?
This might be a little long but I need an opinion. I live in a household of six people, including my three sisters and my parents. Things are getting though with the money especially since my parents aren't currently working. I sent out 10 applications but no one is hiring. I'm currently in my senior year of high school, and I heard I could finish off my senior year in a community college and then continue with my education. My plan originally was to graduate high school, go to a community college for 2 years, then transfer to a 4 year college, and then go to graduate school. But lately I've been thinking about doing my senior year in a community college, which will be better because i would only have to go to school from 3-4 hours, which will allow me to find a job were I could work more hours and help with the money. I have my driver's test in ten days so that would help me get around. My mom went to the same community college last year for a while and she got financial aid and didn't even had to pay for the books, I was wondering if I would be the same for me even though I'm trying to finish my senior year. I need to hear feedback or ideas on what I should do. thank you. ender126: I live in rhode island, and the ecomony is pretty bad in here, many of my friends are not working; one of them tried applying to taco bell and a seper makert, and they aren't hiring as well. Farty McFart: Thank you, and thanks for the prayers, I appreciate them!
Answer: In the long run, using the dual education track through the CC is a better choice, although socially, you lose out on your senior year of high school. The dual education will give you both your high school diploma and get you at least a semester (if not two) ahead of your peers. CC is an inexpensive way of gaining college credits and knowledge and in the long run, saves you lots of money. Go talk to the financial aid office at your local CC. Ask about grants, loans, work-study, everything. Remember to ensure that any loans you get are deferred (if you get a job, pay the interest on a monthly basis so the balance doesn't total up too high). Once you've gotten to see the financial aid office, see a counselor. What you want to do is plot out a course to get your Associate's degree in a field that will lead to a 4-year degree in something you want to pursue. Most states have programs under which your AA degree from the CC leads directly into a state 4-year school and degree. Thus, you get your bachelor's degree for the cost of a 2+2 which is a lot cheaper than the cost of going to a 4-year school only. Good luck and I wish you much success...
Is there a personality disorder where an individual is focused on one particular person and is never satisfied?
IE: former co-worker interferes with a person's marriage but sending him a letter and when she is able to win over the husband, she continues to follow-up on the individual she targeted in a stalking kind of way. Questions a good therapist should explore in self-reporting before answering this question: How did someone “interfere” with your marriage, and why? What was in the letter? How did your husband respond to the letter? It is revealing that you use the idea of “won over.” This could indicate a person whose life-view is a “zero-sum game” – everyone and everything is either “won” or “lost” – no in-between, which is not life and people. Is that your approach to life? If someone or something was “won,” are you then the “loser?” Is that perhaps why you are seeking ammunition? What shape was your marriage in if your husband was so easily “won over” by a letter? You reveal much about yourself in your question. You give your husband no credit for being an autonomous human being with a mind, feelings and free will of his own. You trivialize him by portraying him as so easily “won over” by a letter. Is that how you regard him? Is that what he lived in his marriage to you? What did you do to keep your husband and marriage in response to this person and the letter? Was your husband “won over” or was there really a reason for him to divorce you? What reason did your husband give you for divorcing you? Are you really entirely innocent? Why would this person target and stalk you – YOU? Describe both of you: appearance, education, career, lifestyle, accomplishments, etc… What do you mean by “follow up?” Can you be specific? Why do you feel you are being targeted? What has the individual done to “target” you? What activities? How has the individual “stalked” you? Can you be specific? What activities? Have you called the police if you are being “stalked?” Why would a stalker whose goal is to have your husband continue to stalk YOU after she “won him over?” Have you sought professional help for your situation, or just cyberspace? Is the fact that your communication about this is ONE-WAY – unknown, without verification and no dialogue - a type of “control of information?” Are you really seeking (undeserved) support anonymously in cyberspace for your wounded ego and your version of events? It is also a form of control and manipulation to accuse – or threaten to accuse – a possible informant of the things you have; the “perpetrator-crying-victim” game. There is a “character disorder” in which the afflicted individual seeks to “character-assassinate” others when perceiving being wounded; ultra-competitive, below-the-belt, deceitful, manipulative, Machiavellian and hates to lose. Does this apply to you? What is the individual’s “focus” on YOU exactly? About what – can you be specific? What activities? When do you think the individual would be finally “satisfied?” What do you think is his/her goal? What has the individual not gotten that he/she ultimately wants – to be “satisfied?” What other things has the individual done “to” you that did not yet satisfy him/her? It is interesting that you use the term “personality disorder” – where did you get the term? Are you really “asking,” “projecting” – or seeking support and the appearance of legitimacy for what you have already decided? Obviously you have done some research if you use the term “personality disorder.” Why have you then not found the answer to this question in your research? Has this term actually been applied to YOU? Is it perhaps that you are just a “sore loser” and are looking to discredit or defame the “winner?” Sour grapes? You really must be honest with yourself and others if you truly desire legitimate help and change. Seeking support on the internet from strangers for what you wish instead of what is really the case solves nothing for you. Why are you not asking about pathological lying instead of worrying about everyone else?
Answer: That's a lot of questions. To be honest I only got about half way down, but it sounds like you're describing the black and white thinking involved in borderline personality disorder.
I don't know who I owe money to for my student loans?
I am supposed to be paying $50 a month for my student loans. $50 was supposed to be deducted from my bank account every month but for some reason, it hasn't been. I am afraid of the penalties for not paying my student loans off and would like to contact whomever it is that I owe the money to... Unfortunately, I don't even know WHO I owe money to. The my frost bank account says the previous payments of $50 were charged by ACH Debit GL EDUCATION ST LOAN PAY, whatever that means. Any help is much appreciated.
Answer: you can always check with your financial aid department at the school for loan records. If you got a private loan that came directly to you, you need to think about which bank or education loan system you went through. You can check your credit reports as well. If one of your parents co-signed they may have original loan agreements. I suggest never set up an automatic debit. I used to do that for sallie mae and it worked fine until I had an emergency situation. I realized having money automatically come out of my account was not great at that moment. so i keep track of everything I owe through Excel or Quickbooks and make sure I pay them monthly. If i cant pay something for whatever reason I try to double up next time or call and explain to them.
I have to make my class answer 3 questions about literacy...?
and i don't know what to ask them. all i have is... Do you think literacy is important in life? Do you think people with no education have better literacy?
Answer: How could people with no education have better literacy? That question makes no sense. Why don't you ask how a lack of literacy could be damaging to one's career prospects? Or, what might be the emotional, personal (that is, non-professional) consequences of being unable to read and write competently? Or, what might be some reasons that a child would fail to become literate? Just a few ideas.
What should be done to fix America?
It's pretty clear that the government has become the problem. What should be done? I would say, it's pretty evident that spending needs to be cut and drastically. Start will all the expansion of government over the past 2 years. Fire them Reform the tax code, simplify it, flat tax Abolish the IRS and Dept of Education, which will save billions annually Repeal the healthcare law Return the remaining stimulus money Government "IS" the problem. of this, there is no doubt. That only means the way they have been acting and operating. Not that "Government" in general is a problem. This one is just way too bloated and out of control. The government greed is enormous
Answer: 1) Vote out the dems AND Rhino Republicans. 2) Pass a "term limits bill" for ALL government and judicial offices (this means ALL branches). I think 8 years is more than enough time for any government office and/or judicial office. 3) We as americans need to start learning more about our state representatives instead of waiting for campaign ads to tell us about them. 4) I agree 100% with the flat tax proposal. What should the rate be? I don't know but it has never been done before and I truly think it would breathe new life into our economy as entreprenuers will be free to reinvest in the growth of their companies which means more jobs, more products and services at reduced costs and more incentive to push the envelope of ingenuity. 5) Begin the process of grandfathering social security gradually so that more americans (now that they are paying far less taxes based on item #4 and able to save for their retirement themselves) can invest in their own retirement based on their own personal standard of living goals. 6) Reinstating and re-enforcing our federal immigration laws. Stop suing states for enforcing federal laws that the government has failed/refused to do. 7) Strengthen our military once again. 8) Start relying on ourselves "We the people" rather than the government (socialism). 9) Americans need to start "pursuing happiness" again and this can only happen when we are FREE to do so. This means SMALLER government NOT bigger government. 10) Restore the constitution as it was intended by our forefathers. Stop trying to reinterpret its meaning. Interpret the constitution with common sense NOT with personal agendas. 11) Honor freedom OF religion NOT "FROM" religion. 12) Stop trying to be like the rest of the world. If the rest of the world is so much better than America, then why do so many from around the world flock to our country? ======================================= If you elect people who say that government is the problem, they become part of the government, and are therefor the problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- And we have the absense of "Term limits" to thank for this. However, we (as American citizens) still (so far) have the power to vote out corrupt incumbents if only we keep ourselves informed of our state representatives and vote for or against them according to their actions while in office. ====================================== NASA needs to get the world current with technology. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Well if our socialist president didn't have them so pre-occupied with reaching out to muslims and making them feel appreciated for all the wonderful "scientific advancements they have made to the world"... Don't you think that's a little more important right now?! Butt kissing is of the utmost importance right now...sorry...that's just the way it is right now. Maybe when we get a real president back in office, we can get NASA back on the task of what you are proposing. ===================================== Make politicians more responsible to the people who elected them. It is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, after all. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Amen! The problem has been a slow process. America "as a whole" has started to fall asleep on government. We have grown too complacent as a people and have put too much trust in our government. We have not done our part of keeping a close watch on what our state representatives have been up to. We act shocked that our media and universities at large are mostly liberal when the truth is...this has been a very slow and deliberate movement from liberals around the country. The beginning of this leftist movement has started a long time ago. We have been fighting against socialism/communism/tyranny from the very beginning and somewhere along the line, we became overly confident in ourselves and allowed these crazy ideologies to creep in. ========================================= Next drastically cut back education spending. Hemorrhaging money into the system is doing absolutely nothing to improve test scores. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Especially as liberal as our education system has become. We have to stop the bleeding...this is where liberal indoctrination begins! ======================================== Get rid of the Teachers' Union. If a teachers are bad at their job, fire their *ss. Don't let some Union keep dumbing down are country. Government should have no say in education in the first place. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Amen again!!! This is EXACTLY how liberalism has invaded our educational system!!! ======================================= Yes, repeal the healthcare bill. It had good intentions, but its not my responsibility to pay for someone else's health care, nor is it the governments. Hell no. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Agreed. Our country already had the best hospitals and clinics in the world without this "well intentioned yet shortsighted" reform bill. ======================================= Cut all non-necessary programs. It'll be tough for a while, but it'll be better in the long run. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Just good common sense budgeting. We Americans do this sort of thing everyday with our own personal budgets. I really want that super sweet corvette but is it the right thing to do at this time? Maybe not...BUT I WANT IT SO BADLY...IT'S SO COOL!!! I know...I will borrow money from the bank and if I don't have enough money in the bank after the monthly car payment...I'll just use my discover card! Great plan right? Uh...no! That's the way our government thinks...only they print more money instead of using the discover card OR raise taxes on us! ================================== Get the government out of education, the auto industry, and the health business. Get them out of the economy all together, save for mandatory regulations. That will boost the commercial output and save the Federal Government trillions. -------------------------------------------------------------- Will you run for president?! I'd vote for you if you can convince me you're not a rhino. :-)
steve jones has decided to start saving for his son's college education by depositing $2,000 at the end of eve?
steve jones has decided to start saving for his son's college education by depositing $2,000 at the end of every year for 15 years. a bank has agreed to pay interest at the rate of 4% compounded annually. how much will steve have in the bank immediately after his 15th deposit?
Answer: 4% of $2000 = $80 Year 1: $2000 + $80 = $2080 Year 2: 4% of $4080 = $163.2 + 4080 = $4243.2 Year 3: 4% of 6243.2 = $250 + 6243.2 = $6,493.2 And so on up to 15 years. you can continue with the calculations cause i have to run.
