Drudge Report questions & answers
Choice A A Washington Post headline blared that "6 in 10 Americans Lack Faith in Obama." Choice B The Drudge Report, rippling off the poll, screamed, "CREDIBILITY CRISIS." Choice C The New York Times asked 15 brilliant people to give the sinking Prez advice on its op-ed page. Charles Krauthammer, the neoconservative columnist, argued that the worst part of Obama's failure was that he was succeeding — he was reversing Reaganism, with legislation like the health care and financial-reform bills. Choice D The President's press secretary, Robert Gibbs, noted, accurately, that the Democratic Party might lose the House of Representatives in the coming elections. This droplet of candor rendered the Speaker of said House, Nancy Pelosi, inexplicably apoplectic. Choice E Various commentators began to speculate that it was possible that the Democrats could lose the Senate as well. Choice F All of the above http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,2005663,00.html#ixzz0uTAuqeyA Smug Liberal: I guess you missed the fact that the fastest growing minority group in America today are Asians. Asian predominantly are GOP and conservative. So your failed logic of predicting a majority based on race is not only decades away but is also completely inaccurate.
Answer: How about this apocalyptic doom headline of the future for you in 2050. "Whites now comprise less than 50% of the population in the U.S., Democrats have permanent majority for eternity" LOL, yeah Susie, that's why San Francisco is such a GOP stronghold, right? LMAO!
What is to stop the government from blocking citizens from accessing "controversial opinion" from ?
the citizens, if they are doing it to federal employees. They could block sites like MSNBC, Fox News, Drudge report, or anything else they think its "controversial"
Answer: When you're at work, it's not your computer.
What are some websites like the Drudge Report, where you can see links to articles from different web sites?
Answer: Drudge Report gathers news form dozens of other web sites so that their web site has back linking to the sites providing the news. This is done to rank higher in search engine results, earn ad revenue and help with branding. If also makes the web site a first stop web site for people interested in this kind of news which promotes "BRAND LOYALTY"
Should police taze a bedridden woman, 86 years old?
It happened in El Reno Oklahoma. She was suffering from many health problems, bedridden and suicidal. The police officer also stepped on her oxygen hose depriving her of oxygen. Her hospital bills from being grabbed and having her fragile skin torn and the burns from the taser gun amounted to $30,000. Do you think they are justified tasing a bedridden woman even though she was threatening suicide? The story is linked on Drudge Report and also News Ok. Do you think that being medicated may have had something to do with the woman's attitude. Also what about people who are in the later stages of Alzheimer's disease, they can be physically aggressive due to the disease. Should police go around tasering them too? Handyman: The story is also in the Oklahoma City new sites, it was picked up from there. Bluff Mike: This question involves a senior citizen. I don't need anyone telling what category to put my questions and don't need to be told not to ask a question. Save your lectures for the stupid questions like "Am I pretty?"
Answer: The police are using tasers for everything. It is unnecessary to tase most people. I remember when it was used very sparingly but now it is a police toy. Unfortunately, the many police officers have become criminals in their own right, take the law into their own hands and hide behind the code of silence. I know what I am talking about.
Confused by the Format of the Drudge Report?
Total Conservative, with a question for fellow cons ONLY. Recently I made the Drudge report my home page, having gotten sick of Yahoo news. So vapid. I had bounced around a bit then settled on Drudge. But i am finding that it is such a disorganized page. Not only disorganized but generally with a huge ad at the top and some other large image so that there are very few headlines at the top of the page. First, can anyone explain the random nature of the layout and why people are so drawn to it. It is SO hard to scan the page for content. God pisses me off. Second. Can anyone suggest a page similar in content but at least one notch better in layout? Thanks
Answer: The genius of the Drudge Report webpage is its SIMPLICITY. It lists about two dozen or so stories every day in a fairly predictable order. The biggest story (or the newest) is always at that top dead center and often includes a picture. The breaking stories are usually top left. . and the meat and potatoes stories start in more or less time-of-posting order starting at the left of the stuff below the main story. Very simple. There is NOTHING else to see. No second page to click on. . .no endless circular links. .. no confusing fames or java script . . . or flash. SIMPLE. It is very well thought out and very well executed. I'm amazed anyone would complain about it. Do you want us to read it out loud to you so it is easier for you to understand?
Will Obama abuse the “absolute power” to shut down the Internet under this new bill?
Now he will have power to shut down sites like "The Drudge Report", and FNC website! WE ARE STARTING TO LOOK LIKE CHINA! New Bill Gives Obama ‘Kill Switch’ To Shut Down The Internet http://www.prisonplanet.com/new-bill-gives-obama-kill-switch-to-shut-down-the-internet.html Donna - prove it! David H - why don't you prove the bill does not excist. Scared?
Answer: I say let it happen. The backlash (I hope there would be one.) would be swift and ferocious. Good-bye Obama and all his lackeys in Clowngress. The problem is, a lot of us are ticked off, just not ticked off enough to take action, it's going to take something like this to wake us up. We need to get out and vote, and not worry about what the other guy thinks.
Is it a GOOD idea or a BAD idea for the Govt to subsidize the NEWS?
A question for everyone..how does this NOT mean a de facto control of traditional news media by Govt, if this comes to pass? I personally think it's a horrible idea for Govt to get involved in the distribution of news, as IT would become the arbiter of what constituted "real" news. excerpt... Jon Leibowitz, the chairman of Obama’s Federal Trade Commission, is at the epicenter of a quiet movement to subsidize news organizations, a first step toward government control of the media.... we reported that he had commissioned a study to examine plans for a federal subsidy for news organizations. Among the measures under consideration are special tax treatment, exemption from antitrust laws and changes in copyright laws. Now Leibowitz has begun to pounce. A May 24 working paper on “reinventing” the media proposes that the government impose fees on websites such as the Drudge Report that link to news websites or that it tax consumer electronics such as iPads, laptops and Kindles. Funds raised by these levies would be redistributed to traditional media outlets. http://thehill.com/opinion/columnists/dick-morris/103373-obama-vs-press-freedom Of course this is an opinion piece, but the references are to REAL bills and policies that are being devised and researched NOW! fLOWER: right-wing???? Didn't Morris work for Clinton for YEARS?
Answer: Very bad. Let the damn companies wither away and die. The free market system will take care of itself if Uncle Obanana would get out of the way and let it. Besides, I am sure there would be serious Constitutional issues surrounding such a bailout. It's called the First Amendment of the Constitution and it goes a little something like this: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Why does the right have such a media lead over the left?
With so many wealthy liberals and Democrats, with Democrats controlling the presidency and Congress, and with Hollywood and New York full of "brilliant", wealthy liberal stars and moguls, why does the right have such a media lead over the left? FOX NEWS Limbaugh Hannity Beck Levin Coulter O'Reilly Drudge Report Scott...newspapers are failing. That's why Obama wants to tax Drudge and give the money to them. Please be informed before you comment.
Answer: Liberals don't watch the news. They really don't. Not only do ratings speak for themselves, but have you ever met a liberal who actually has knowledge on any subject that pertains to politics, the economy or any current event (except for celebrity gossip)? I know the liberal like the back of my hand. They are all the same and they never, ever change. They spit out the same crap that they heard from someone else. That's how it always will be. There is way too much information out there for liberalism to still exist.
Why does Barack Hussein Obama want to take over the media now?
http://thehill.com/opinion/columnists/dick-morris/103373-obama-vs-press-freedom A May 24 working paper on “reinventing” the media proposes that the government impose fees on websites such as the Drudge Report that link to news websites or that it tax consumer electronics such as iPads, laptops and Kindles. Funds raised by these levies would be redistributed to traditional media outlets. By now, the Obama MO should be clear to all. As he has done with the banks, AIG and the car companies, he extends his left hand offering subsidies and then proffers his right laden with regulations. Should the government follow through on Leibowitz’s ideas and enact special subsidies and tax breaks for news organizations, it will induce a degree of journalistic dependence on the whims of government not seen since the days when the early presidents bestowed government advertising on favored periodicals.
Answer: So he keeps that celeb status and no one questions him, he also wants to take over banking, oil, air craft manufacturing, the printed press and books, the internet, and make every industry governmental controlled
If you listen to talk radio....?
Doesn't' it seem like it's a big scam? I might agree with 99% of what the host is saying, but these days, it just seems like a scam. Everyone has an opinion, and for people to get paid 10's if millions of dollars a year for an opinion that's no better than mine is absurd. And most of these talk show hosts get their "facts" and their source material from Drudge Report, or from other media. I can listen to or read that stuff myself. If a talk show host earning 20 to 90 million dollars a year can't come up with secret, exlusive, juicy sources of original information, then he's giving NO value whatsoever. Or am i just getting older and wiser?
Answer: It's not so much about what the Talk Show Host is saying, as much as how they're saying it.And bringing together as many Facts Ideas, and Opinions in as short a span of time as possible.Few people can get in front of a Microphone and reach out to countless millions in this way as Rush Limbaugh can.Even if you don't like him, you must admit that he is very gifted at what he does, and he blazed the trail for folks like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levine, and many, many others.Liberals tried to do it with Air America, and went down in Flames. Now they want to bring forth the "Fairness Doctrine" which is anything but. They have lost out.But by and large Talk Radio is on the AM Band.Sure thre are a few on FM, but not that many.So why do the Liberals feel threatened by a few "Harmless Little Loveable Fuzzballs" Broadcasting on the scratchy old AM Band ?
