Hi everyone, I REALLY want to travel to Asia. I was planning on going to Thailand this year, but after looking at China and Japan and even Vietnam, I'm not so sure. Where is a good place to start? Also, what is a good airline? Singapore Air had an AWESOME first class/ suites. Has anyone ever flown on that particular airline? Thanks! Answer: I would say Singapore! Beautiful city with plenty to see and do. Great shopping and food choices. It's so easy to get around with its well-integrated train system. And English is widely used in day-to-day communication. If you are travelling from afar to Asia, I would suggest covering a few stops instead of visiting just one country. Save air mileage and money!

I'm in China at the moment and I would like to buy a pet turtle while I'm here, but I don't know what I would need to do to be allowed to transport him/her from China to England... what papers/documents would I need, and how do I find out if my airline allows pets to be transported, and what else do I need to know?

Answer: Buying a pet in China is no problem... GETTING IT INTO ENGLAND is quite another story! Some animals being brought into the country may need to go into quarantine for quite some time in order to assure customs that they are not carrying any diseases. Other animals may not be allowed into the country at all! I would suggest that you contact the closest British Consulate Office in order to get the correct information first hand.

I'm going to study abroad in South Korea and I originally only bought a one way ticket through Korean Air because I wasn't sure when I wanted to return home. I then found out that the airlines won't let you on many times without a return flight. So I bought my return flight through Air China. Will I encounter any problems at the airports because of this? I'm obviously going to bring the proof of my flights when I check in. I also have my student visa. UPDATE I also saw that I might get flagged and have my stuff searched specially. Is this true? This is my first international flight and I have a felling it won't start off on a good note. Thank you all your help. I feel less nervous about my situation now.

Answer: Most airlines will not allow you to board a flight unless you have the proper travel documents and a return ticket if that is the requirement of your visa or entry requirement of the country you're traveling to. The airline is ultimately responsible and would have to pay for your journey out of the country should you be refused entry. However, it depends on the terms and requirements of your student visa, if a return or onward ticket was not a requirement for you to obtain the visa, the lack of a return ticket may not have prevented you from boarding or being denied entry. I live in Asia on a long term visa and have traveled to many countries in Asia (inc. Korea) using one-way tickets and different types of visas and have never once been searched. You have all the documentation and meet the entry requirements, I don't think you should have any worries at all about being pulled aside for extra inspection, unless you look like someone that needs further scrutiniy. One very important thing to remember when you get to the immigration or passport control counter in Korea is to have your passport opened to the page that has your student visa and make sure the officer stamps you in correctly.

I already obtained a Multi-Entry China Visa from the Chinese Embassy and I was planning to fly into Hong Kong, stay there for a week then travel into Shanghai. Based on the prices of plane tickets, it seems best to fly out of Shenzhen to get into Shanghai. Question is, do I need another visa to get into shenzhen to fly out from their airport? I have a US passport with a china multi-entry visa. Is it better to fly into Shanghai or take the train? Sounds like it will take a whole day by train and only a few hours by plane. I was suspended by ebay about 2 years ago, a few events took place that ruined my selling performance. I was in an uncontrollable situation and i have tried to appeal my account. My appeals have all been denied. Below is my appeal letter... can someone help me out? any tips would mean alot! here is a copy of my appeal.. 6/28/10 To: eBay Trust and Safety Re: Appeal Account User Id: Bestdealer To Whom It May Concern: Just about three years ago, my account was suspended due to non seller performance policy. I would like to offer my sincere apologies and also offer a letter of explanations to reflect my situation. Please take a brief moment to hear the details of my account. My selling performance was dramatically dropped due to two unfortunate incidents that were out of our control. Both incidents are explained in detail: 1) One our hot selling Chinese made lithium battery phones was suspended in the transit two times in a row. Please note that our information was kept on file with our suppliers overseas and large frequent orders were placed weekly to stock up on inventory. But, sometime around August 10th 2008 the packages did not arrive, and further tracking showed that shipment was on its way back to the sender. I requested my supplier to resend the package once they receive it, and in the meanwhile ship out a back-up batch via Express Mail. Meanwhile, I immediately started to communicate with my buyers and informed them that there was a delay in shipments. I kept updated with the tracking on the Express packages, and after 3 days into delivery, they were also marked to be sent back to the sender again! I also called the US post office and they told me this is a matter that has to be advised by the Chinese postal service. I made contact with my supplier in china and asked them to get in touch with their local post office. My supplier contacted their post office to find out why the shipments returned. During the period of this incident, the 2008 29th Olympic Sports was being hosted in Beijing, China and the government officials in china paid much attention to the safety of the whole country. As a result they had placed extra safety measurements and restrictions on air traffic shipments. In particular the restriction was subject to lithium batteries. This was bad news for me, and my customers. My shipment would not be allowed to leave until these restrictions were withheld a week after the Olympics closing ceremony. I immediately contacted all awaiting customers, and expressed my apologies for this matter. To resolve this, I offered them a full refund or a % 20 partial refund and upgrade to expedited shipping once items are delivered. At this point, many customers were upset to have waited so long for their package. Some jumped the gun and left a negative comment right away. In the long run, everyone was either refunded or received their item via express mail with the %20 refund as promised. I'm planning on a trip to Asia. I'm planning on flying from DC to Beijing, travel throughout and then fly home from Hong Kong back to DC. What are some different ticket options, such as round the world flight tickets? I need some good websites and advice to purchase the cheapest tickets possible. Answer: For the trip to Asia you might want to try kayak.com first. They compare the prices on lots of different websites and allow you to choose which deal is best. If that doesn't suit you then you can use Priceline.com, Orbitz.com, etc. If you plan on traveling within China the best sites for domestic flights are ctrip.com and elong.com. Both have English versions and give cheaper prices than American sites. Ctrip is listed on the NY Stock Exchange and is a pretty reputable company with fairly good service. Something strange about Chinese airline prices is that you don't usually get a better price for booking in advance. Usually if you wait until 10 days or so before the trip you can get a better deal than if you had booked a month in advance.
